I went and had a look.
Fun but pretty stupid. It kind of mocks the genre, light hearted "humorous" scenes, then serious, then full on Evil Dead scene.... bit all over the place, lots of blood.
For the money spent it could have been something really cool. I'm sure the band had fun.

I have rewatched District 9. It is still a great movie. It is something special and the idea of aliens finding refuge on earth is very original. 'Aliens' can easily be replaced by 'Ukranians' or 'Afghans' or any other refugee, this movie is still topical. This could happen ... Some of the alien weapons look like toys but that's just a detail. In one of the extras on the blu-ray they say they built their set around an existing building. The bunker where they keep the alien weapons is an actual bunker where they stored nuclear weapons during the '80s. The guy, who gives us a tour, opens a door and gives some explanation. 'As you can see this room is empty.' 'Overhere is something really interesting.' He walks to the next room and there are 2-3 rather big bombs lying there. 'Those ... are NOT ours.'  |

The Suicide Squad (2021): this movie is so over-the-top, ridiculous and childish. You have to see it  You have to release your inner child to like the humor and jokes. So obviously I had no problems with that, I laughed my ass off. But don't watch it with younger children, the violence is real gory and some of the jokes are 'adult' (Do you know the difference between jelly and jam? ... I can't jelly my cock down your throath.) There's a fucking kaiju at the end destroying stuff. So fans of kaiju like in Pacific Rim or Godzilla will love that part. But - spoiler alert - it's a huge blue/purple starfish with a giant yellow eye in the middle. The director (James Gunn) says about the kaiju: yeah, it looks ridiculous. It is waaay better than the first suicide squad which is just an ok action movie. This one is sooooo exaggerated, it so stupid, it is ... Some jokes reminded me of the naked gun jokes. Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) is so hot, I'd poor honey all over her naked body and lick it off. I don't even like honey. That's how hot she is. |

Space Jam: it's a fun looney movie.
Jordan, Ewing, Bird and all the other legends are in it. These stars were huge when this movie came out (everybody knows Air Jordan). They probably are all retired by now. I don't know anyone of the NBA stars of today. Are they famous? Makes me wonder who stars in the second Space Jam.

Followed the production of it from the first announcement of the completed script and all the pre production, just like we do with Metallica albums. Ended up getting a "Reload". Screw the movies. I'll stick to the graphic novels and books. Apparently another part3 (C) is in talks or something. |

Prometheus 3 and Jurassic World. Alien - rather I’m not worried. The only thing missing is the disturbing, cold, unknown space. JW 3 … in 2022. I will say that. The shark is not a mammal. It just snaps that jaws - there is no discussion here - fish. The dinosaur is not a hippo or a rhino. I’m thinking of a clear border. What has always been good - surprising animal cleverness. Disturbing animal instinct.

Pretty funny zombie flick. Bunch of summer school teachers fight for their lives as the kids are infected with a virus that turns them into psyco cannibals. Lots of laughs and some really gory visuals. Has Elijah Wood and Rainn Wilson and some really good cast/characters.

Everything Everywhere All At Once
What a film. It felt a little hard to follow at first but once you get adjusted to the writing and pace of it, it's a TRIP. Excellent theater movie too, the sound design was 10/10.
