I think it looks great. I'm not seeing much of a negative reaction aside from Alan's "Looks a bit shite" comment. Most of the Nintendo mockery around here is about their business decisions/hardware rather than their games I feel. Yeah I'm only Fucking around, it looks beautiful, but the Gameplay looks a bit crap, but then I'm not a Zelda player. The frame rate is janky as fuck though. And my issue with Nintendo is price and policy. Sell me a WiiU with just a pro controller, for 120 knicker, and I'm first in line. The fecking thing is a failure, it's generation is almost over and it still costs more than an xbox one or PS4? |

There's plenty of Nintendo games I want to play, but I'm not being hijacked to play them I do enjoy Smash brothers from time to time though. There is no better party game imo. |

I'm not a huge Zelda fan, but I'd recommend giving Wind Waker a go even if you didn't like the older games. If you have a decent PC it runs and looks great emulated at 1080p.

I realllllly doubt if its gonna render anything at 4K tbh , current X1 has 1080 output and yet most games are rendered 720 and displayed 1080. it's gonna be either super simple games or just capable to display 4K. same goes for neo. could be wrong though.

There are quite a few 1080p games on Xbox One, with most of the rest being 900p. Devs will probably have to choose between up-ressing an Xbox One port to 4K without much room to improve the graphics in other ways (a mixture of low/medium PC settings essentially) and probably at 30fps mostly, or going for 1080/60 at high/ultra settings. I'd personally prefer the latter as I'll take a higher framerate over higher resolution. Either way I think they'll probably end up with a solid number of 4K games, so I don't think it's too disingenuous to call it a 4K console; I mean even the 360/PS3 were touted as being " full HD" despite 1080p being exceedingly rare. Dead Rising 4 exclusive to Windows Store on PC for just the first 90 days as I hoped. |

Looks like GameStop CEO confirmed physical media for the NX, which I always figured any way. Some how the rumor mill got in its head a while thay NX would be digital only. That would be terrible.

Any portable hardware should probably be digital only at this point (with an SD card slot). But yeah it's too soon for a company like Nintendo to have a digital-only home console. Forward thinking internet services is not something that comes to mind when I think of Nintendo. I don't think Japan in general cares as much on that subject, which is why it was smart of Sony to hand development of the PS4 hardware/OS over to their American subsidiary.

I'd be all for it if it came with the benefits of digital games on PC, such as a variety of open stores with competing prices and plentiful, generous sales with a no-questions-asked refund policy. But I can't see that happening on a walled garden with all software/hardware controlled by a single giant corporation so I think the digital console dream is nothing but a dream at this point. It'll happen eventually, but it won't be what it could and should be.
