OK, I have to get this rant out of my system. Fuck I hate this console and game generation. Since I re-purchased a 360 and a bunch of games about a month ago, I realise just how bad this generation is. 90% of my gaming now done on the older console because the majority of my time spent on the newer console is pure frustration. Let me describe a few typical scenarios on Xbox One: 1. I hit the Xbox logo on my XBOne controller. The console doesn't turn on, the light on the controller flashes. Fuck me. So I say "Xbox On" 3-4 times. It doesn't fucking work. So I get up and turn on the console manually. The controller light is still flashing. It's not paired with the console for some reason. So I try my second controller only to get the same result. So I hold down the 'pair" button on my controller and console. They don't pair. I repeat the process with my second controller. They don't pair. So I use the play and charge cord and finally I have a usable controller. This happens about 6-7 times out of 10. If I didn't have a Play and Charge cord I wouldn't be able to use my console more than 50% of the time. 2. So I go through that 10 mins of bullshit just to turn the console on. I fire up Rainbow 6 Siege. The game takes minutes to load. You get in, and invite 2 friends to your party, then into the game lobby/squad. It take about 1-2 minutes for one person to join, the second person get's an error "Unable to join squad". Fuck me. So we all back out of the lobby, and try to get another person to send invites. Now I can't join their squad. Jesus Christ. So we all quit the game back to the dashboard, and repeat the process. Same thing. So we all do hard restarts of our consoles, and eventually all get into the same lobby. 3. We then sit there, waiting for a match for sometimes up to 10 minutes. We get in, get instantly team killed by douchebags on our team and have to wait another 5-10 mins for a new round to start. Between all the waiting, team killing, and other bullshit, in about an hour of playing, you might get 10-15 minutes of actual game time. So I crack the shits, and say "I actually want to play a game" and load up Call of Duty. 4. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 takes a few minutes to load. Then it takes another few minutes to "Connect to online service". Then you get an error "Online service not available at this time" .Fuck me. So you try again and eventually get in. 5. For some reason, despite it's superior processing power, loading a match of CoD on Xbox One takes about twice as long as on 360. But you get in, realise the game is actually a broken piece of shit with awful hit detection and law compensation, and of course 12 year old campers with bright pink DLC weapon camps. So you rage quit. 6. For some reason, despite it's superior processing power, quitting a match of CoD on Xbox One takes about twice as long as on 360. But you repeat the process and eventually get a decent lobby and play some CoD. You end up playing with a couple of good players so you go to add them as a friend. For some reason, it takes about 3-4 minutes to try to load someones profile on Xbox One, so you get tired of looking at a spinning loading circle and just give up. Then you get disconnected from the Call of Duty online service. Fuck me. So you load up something like Doom or Mortal Kombat for some offline play. 7. For some reason, despite it's superior processing power and "always on" standby mode, unless you restart your console regularly, games run like shit, with jerkiness and dropped frames. So you have to do another hard restart of your console, only to end up with problem number 1 again. Fuck me. 8. So you resist the urge to launch your Xbox One and all it's peripherals off your balcony, hit the Xbox logo on your 360 controller, and within say about 30-45 seconds, you're playing a well made, well running, bug free, really smooth game of Call of Duty 2/4/WaW/Black Ops2/Skyrim/Mortal Kombat and have instantly fun for hours without any single moment of frustration. Sounds like someone should have bought a PS4. Get in that Naughty Dog ass, Larry. |

Sometimes it's tough to tell who seems more sanctimonious; PC owners or PS4 owners. Watching the Sony fan melt downs and deluded ramblings over xbox scorpio is comedy gold. Apparently it's about games, not power now  |

Get in that Naughty Dog ass, Larry. Nah , PS4 has far less frustrating moments , true, but it also can be a horrible experience from time to time. Getting kicked out of parties, not being able to invite/join , weird connection issues , horrible game experiences such as Uncharted 4 still experiencing old uncharted 3 online issues ( black screen before round starts , backing out of the game so you can invite a new player etc..)...this gen is just fucking lame and lazy or clueless devs are taking it to another level. there is just not enough excitement or great games out there to compensate for these shitty problems. |

I will certainly agree this is the least fun gen of all time.
Too much focus on multiplayer, outrageous DLC and too many games going out fucked.
So glad it's coming to an end already. Hopefully VR boxes will bring something fresh. Well I know they will.

I'd say there's plenty of great games, they're just not AAA shooters. AAA development is staler and safer than it's ever been, but low and mid-budget games are flourishing. |

I have only ever really got season passes for Dark Souls 3 (because I know it will be good quality) and Starcraft 2 Nova expansion. I have gotten a few through some deals on steam where its bundled with the game for cheap but I don't actively go out and buy them. Especially for MP maps...I mean WTF !! I remember on COD 4 the patches released came with extra maps. |

Glad to see Ubisoft fixed the connection problems of Siege with the latest patch. I went from getting disconnected in the middle of matches to now not even being able to connect to the menu. Thanks guys!

I'm enjoying the shit out of Doom on PC. I love it. Finished the campaign. Fuck, that was so good. They did it! I'm gonna replay it 100 times like the others! Also, I think people are being too hard on the MP. I'm enjoying it. Needs some more swag with the announcer (should have been Samuel Hayden, duh!) and the matches need to end in a better way. Other than that, I think it's pretty decent and has potential. Best Doom ever, and one of the most fun FPS campaigns ever imo. For real. What a breath of air. Obviously setting up a sequel at the end, can't wait! Even the ending credits had badass presentation. |

Uncharted 4 MP rant , not that im an uncharted player to be honest , i always liked it for singleplayer and hated the mp all the way with all its elevation , ridicolous time to kill and lack of aiming and skill , it's just a scrub attractive game imho ( coop is different though) and yet they managed to fuck it up even more!
Being a shooter fan and sick of BF4 after almost 3 years and 2k hours in i decided to give it a shot ,as far as i know they had an exclusive multiplayer team working on it and yet the game comes up with only 3 modes which 2 of them being the most generic of sort ( TDM ofcourse and domination) , there is no ranking or persistence system ..WHAT THE FUCK?! matchmaking is horrible!No dedicated server still finding KSA princes matched up lagging everywhere and eating bullet... Uncharted 3 issues are still there as you still have to back out and in every now and then cause blackscreen or not being able to join party! ..microtransaction is ridiculous and unlocking stuff is horrible giving you random fucking chests unlocking stuff you dont give a shit about.
General UI looks so arcade and unfinished ..it just doesn't look attractive one bit. and balance is also shit...well GG there! fuck this bussiness , it's no longer FUN to be a gamer.

While I do agree that UC4 multiplayer is a bit sparse at the moment, I don't follow your rant on general server/game issues. I have literally not had any problems with shitty servers or wonky game issues. Also, and this is just a personal viewpoint, but what's the point of a rankng system? Since multiplayer unlockables in UC4 are unlocked via gameplay success, what would be the point of having a number rank? I saw someone created an online petition (good luck!) for ND to implement a number ranking just for the sole purpose of having an arbitrary number next to your name. I mean, who cares? |

Persistence bring some point of achievement (as weird as it may sound) to the game and it would have been so much better to have a ranking system to unlock stuff as you progress. it helps keeping you interested in playing and leveling up ! it could be only me as im not a huge fan and i need something extra than just playing 3-4 maps running and gunning but it's fun to chase down unlocks. none of those exist in UN4, instead , you get some useless unattractive points through app and doing some trials and you can unlock like 90% of stuff.

Story focused games tend to have weak MPs. Games like BF4 as you mentioned, have great MP and horrible campaigns. Focus of resources.
