I mean the 'XX ' thing makes me think it's roman numerals, so 20, which makes me think that it's 20 years since S&M so all this is is an announcement of S&M2 on home media.... But then the colour scheme (black and grey) is VERY TBA... so is it the deluxe box set? But that makes no sense with the 'XX' thing.... also, they didn't do anything this fancy for the other boxsets so why start now?! My guess is S&M2 on bluray, vinyl etc etc OR...... S&M deluxe remaster boxset.....???? |

The internet detectives have already figured it out. Looks like its going to be some kind of festival announcement. Adding another tour dates in USA where they've already played on this tour can be a disappointment when you wish they would start working on the studio album asap but on the bright side its good to know that they seem to be optimistic about James' situation.

Yup, seems so. As you say, glad that they're optimistic about James (and that has to have come from him personally I guess). I'm under no illusions about new music though. I doubt we'll get another new album from them now. There's no fire there anymore. I love HTSD but they need to focus and write and record in a concerted effort 9 months to a year just working on a new record solidly. They also need a producer that will produce them: drive them to be better, make Kirk do better, cal them on their shit. Since St Anger, it's been this laborious year on year sessions to make an album and that's how it is, sure, but if they REALLY wanted to do new music they'd stop titting around and get on with it. |

Yeah not a good look to be announcing new shows less than two weeks after cancelling a tour and Het going to rehab.
You’d think if they knew he was well enough to be able to still announce future shows and roll on/plan as normal then they wouldn’t have cancelled the tour.
Oh well let’s wait and see, not entirely convinced by the internet detectives just yet.

I can't see them scheduling tours right now if James is in rehab. Rehab is a big fat question mark (just like last time) You don't know what is going to come out of that. Other than the time staying in a facility, there is work outside of that. It would be silly to like, limit James' time in recovery just to play more shows by a certain point. It's disrespectful of the process, and they don't need the money. (or do they?) Sometimes I think this band signed devil deals and are constantly owing entities money.
Also, weren't both Orion festivals colossal failures? Why would they be trying to do that again? If they were to do another festival, just call it 'Metallica Festival.' That's much more marketable. And get better/more popular bands on it. Orion was like 'Through the Never.' Met throwing money at personal fantasies that no one asked for, but they had the money to burn so they did.

I didn't think of this option.
