Just saying maybe they should've cancelled the 2020 shows and given him a break. "They" don't get a say. "He" is the one that says what he can and can't do. If he is ok with the schedule then we shouldn't second guess him. |

I was sad to hear Hetfield went back into rehab, but happy that he recognized he needed to do it. Recovery as I understand it, is an ongoing process with no sure cure. But you can't keep James Hetfield down for long. He'll be back, stronger than ever I bet.

Interesting to see if Metallica go back into the studio or tour more with this extended break. Well neither as they’re all in lockdown. They will have to honour the dates they were contractually obliged for (including Auz/NZ) once they can get back out in the world. |

That's some LARGE leaps of conclusion that interviewer is making there. We don't know why Hetfield went back into rehab but, according to this guy, it was because he smelled some whiskey.

Eh, I don't think it was that, but who knows. I can speculate all day long, but all that matters is he knew he was slipping back and he nipped it in the bud. At that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, he mentioned he had sponsors from rehab, so maybe they told him whats up and go get checked in again. Who knows.

People got upset about some of us commenting on how James looked leading up to his rehab stint but he looked like shit before he went in. Definitely bloated and generally looked lacking in energy which was unlike him.
Its clear to see back out of rehab again how much healthier he looks. We could speculate on what did it, booze or opiates, maybe both but it's just good to see him looking healthy again. It's obviously going to be a life long struggle for him though.

Looks like Metallica are going to start touring again... Today is the day of psychoanalysis. I was thinking about Metallica touring. For James, Metallica touring is important - like a daughter’s virginity for a conservative father. I see similar care. Lars treats the band like a catapult against great force - which tries to flatten him. Kirk is ready all the time - he has only “Black or White” mood, which affects his involvement. Rob feels good, but sometimes he still tries to combine “Greatest Metal Band of All Time” with what he experiences in the tuning room. |
