The riff/jams/extra crap in the boxsets are rubbish, all i wanted wanted was a decent remaster, only RTL so far.

I love the Seattle remix. How much does it differ from the original?

I love the Seattle remix. How much does it differ from the original? The kick drums are a little more punchy, and you can pick out the instruments better. It also seems like they turned down that annoying fucking crowd noise.

I like how the rough mixes have bass prominent in the mix haha. All of those "...And Justice for Jason" dudes just had to wait 30 years lol.

OK. I'll admit it. I've always made fun of the remaster boxes and the myriads of bonus discs they come with. I tried listening to the Ride and Master stuff, and they didn't do anything to me. But I'm actually listening to that rough mix of Justice right now...
And it's fucking stellar. The bass sound is so crunchy, and the drums aren't nearly as dry as the finished version. The lack of solos creates an interesting "vacuum" of sorts, and you can really concentrate on the underlying riffs. Very, very cool stuff in there. I hope, HOPE, that one day they will re-release the album with sound similar to this. I know it's far-fetched and improbable... But hey, stranger things have happened!

Has anyone laid over the guitar hero solo tracks over the rough mixes yet? I'm sure we'll get a flood of those.

How so? Take one of kirks solos from GH, and put it over a sololess rough mix from the boxset. Export, done. Justice with some bass and solos. Or, some dude just rerecording the leads over the rough mix.

The GH stems are also not the same speed as the retail CD(be it the remaster or older CD). You'd have to time sync and pitch shift the solo to fit the rough mix, which would take a shit ton of time and effort to make it sync 100% as well as be in the same pitch 100%. I've tried it multiple ways.
Not worth the effort.

The update to the missing CD for everyone that buys these boxsets, Discrepancy Records came through for me and sorted a replacement CD without any hassle and pretty fast. I received it last Friday so happy days.
Great to see these guys get onboard so quickly and help to resolve the issue, I definitely recommend them. This was my first time purchasing from there, I will almost certainly use them again.
I emailed them to confirm all is sorted, and they replied back again saying since I first told them about the issue there have been a number of customers in contact with them with the same issue. So again, looks like there is a definite need to check you have everything that is supposed to be in there.
I have a 50 CD boxset I bought quite awhile ago (2010-2013 Aus / NZ shows) that I have still not played in full. I'll be pissed if there are issues with that - I only realised today that I have yet to check that one. Was not cheap that one, so fingers crossed all is good there.

Just hope they do it well and with Justice's digital plugin emulation.
