I've been trying for 10 + years to try and get an answer to this. a few months before death magnetic came out my buddy burned me a cd that he said was to be the new metallica cd, death magnetic. I listened to it and it was really cool but I noticed it almost seemed like a Christian metal cd. after DM came out I realized this cd he burned me was not death magnetic but like some kind of warm up for it or demos. the only song on my b urned cd was the day that never comes, the rest were singing about jesus and religion etc. can someone please tell me what this cd my friend burned for me 11 years ago is?

Well it won't be Metallica.
All sorts of fakes are thrown about the net when people are getting ansy about new material.
Could be snippets from Mission Metallica with someone putting vocals over riffs?

Could be anything. Where the vocals sounding like James? Lots of fake stuff out there that is very convincing. Like this gem, (still sounds like a real Metallica song to me all these years later even though its some Swedish dudes or something)

Am I Blood is actually a pretty good Finnish band, and yes, the singer can sound VERY similar to James at times. Also, their music has that thrashy feel, and they were strongly influenced by Metallica, so I can see how some more casual fans could be fooled. |

am I blood is not on mine. my burned cd definetly sounds like james and mettalica, like I said my friend gave me this cd in early 2008 before the actual Dd cd came ou5t

Speaking of this era, I played Beyond Magnetic the other day and thought it was all over the place. Great in parts, but a mish mash.
They got it right leaving those off DM. I never felt that way when it came out 7 YEARS AGO

I wish they had rewritten/spruced up a couple of better tracks and put them on HWTSD in place of some of the lesser tracks. I'm not saying which and which cuz I ain't starting that convo. |
