I'm actually not sure why Phil is even bothering with The Illegals when Down still exists and could be making music and touring. I agree Down is an awesome band, i think he wants to be underground metulz even if it sucks. |

Phil's always doing something with other bands, he's always been like that , besides, as much as I love Down, the past 2 EP'S were disappointing. The 2 Illegals records are better, shit, them 2 Scour EP'S smoke both of the Down one's too, and with Pepper being busy with COC,I don't see Down doing much for a while.
IMO, of course. Maybe Down could use a break, and come back with a proper heavy as shit record.

I actually really liked the Purple EP, it was straight up essential Down, had every element I love about the band. I didn't go in depth on the second one though.

I actually really liked the Purple EP, it was straight up essential Down, had every element I love about the band. I didn't go in depth on the second one though. The first EP was much better. |

Crossing my fingers that Phil doesn't try to stir up some sort of "reunion" show as a tribute for the brothers. Given their relationship and the fact that they more or less were the band, it would be pretty inappropriate. But something I can see happening as a cash grab. Phil has never tried to make a cash grab off of Dime or Pantera. That was all Vinnie.
I can't see it happening at all.

Old bump, I think it's obvious because of Phil's 'white power' incident that gave Down bad press at the time and got them kick off a bill. Down is the big band between all involved, so they pulled away from it to let the bad press die down over time. |

Down take hiatus' between releases anyways, it's nothing new. They'll be back when everyone's finished with their current schedules with their other bands.
Last 2 Illegals records > Last 2 Down ep's.

Illegals is bleh and Down's 'hiatuses' before were because they were in other bands that were still their main bands. Down then became their main band and now, isn't again for a reason, and not because of the past reason. This break was not part of the plan.
