Sucks hey. I read about this the other week. Will be tough for him watching someone else play his music. I hope he gets the chance to remain involved to some degree

Enjoyed that quite a lot! Someday I will give Judas Priest a real chance. I've only heard maybe...5 songs in total.

How did they jump from breaking the law/turbo lover to painkiller? Did I miss something? Such a drastic change in style.

That Spectre song is pretty cool (good riff/vocals) might check the rest of the album out.

I like a lot of Judas Priest, but I don't really see the charm of the 70s albums. They sound really hollow and lifeless to me. IMO Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller are easily their best ones. I also like Turbo and Ram It Down, I think they're far better than their reputation.

They realized they went to far with that album and decided to get a way better drummer (well he left, but still). I mean that album has a song with a drum machine. Judas Priest during the late 80s went a bit too heavily in the 80s sound. I'm more of the 70s Priest fan, but after Defender of the Faith, they got a bit too 80s for my liking. Turbo and Ram It Down waaayyy too reverby for me.

Man I can't get enough of this album. Rob sounds great, kick ass riffs sprinkled everywhere, the production is top notch. It's bad ass.

Best 3 albums? British Steel Screaming for Vengeance Painkiller I'd actually change British Steel for Firepower, but otherwise, yeah. British Steel is definitely one of the better ones.

Best 3 albums? British Steel Screaming for Vengeance Painkiller Don't know how I'd choose top 3 but Sad Wings of Destiny is their masterpiece imo.

Great album and definitely in the Top3. I have Firepower now and agree with everyone raving about it - its pretty awesome. Me and a buddy had it on repeat last night while throwing darts. Its well absorbed after that session. Mate pointed out there's moments in there that are a little Maiden-ish. It's very cool that a band of that age can put out something so killer.

I actually got a Megadeth/Metallica vibe on a few songs from Firepower, if the rumours are true that Andy Sneap contributed to the songwriting then I imagine that's where that influence came from.

I only own The Chosen Few cd. Other heavy metal artists chose the tracklist of this 'best of'. So you get all favourites on one cd. Good stuff. I especially enjoy The Sentinel (chosen by and from the older songs The Ripper (which was also chosen by Ozzy Osbourne I think). James Hetfield chose Victim of changes and Lars Ulrich chose Beyond the realms of death.

Great, great band. If it will be their last, Firepower is a very good way to end a career.
