He shouts all over many of their albums better than that. At a similar level on much of them making it impossible to pick.

Has to be one of the ballads Unforgiven or The Day That Never Comes.

I can't give all that much credit to Sabbra Cadabra considering the high notes are very likely autotuned. It was pretty noticeable how in the Garage Inc. EPK James couldn't even come close to hitting the note while recording.

Not bad enough to become dissonant, but enough to sound kinda funny. Kind of like listening to Randy Rhoads solos, he double tracked them to get the same effect.

I suppose you might be right. Either way though I've never been a fan of Sabbra Cadabra's vocal take due to that weird effect and how he never really came even close to matching it live. It kinda dampens the moment. Garage Inc. is probably the best album vocally overall, though.
e: Yeah it's definitely a weird pitch issue. The vocal tracks are stuck just enough apart in pitch to make it sound like James's voice is bending unnaturally, like it would with autotune. I think it might be trying to hide a not-perfectly clean high note, though.
e2: Listening to this album makes me desire a "Best guitar work on a Metallica album" thread though. Incredibly satisfying and tasteful playing, even if the solos aren't as amazing as what came before.

Goddamn, I loved the Bad Seed jam at the beginning there. They should definitely play it in full!

Meh. I saw them open up that way back in the day. Felt very anticlimactic. Nothing is better then EOG to kick it off. Goosebumps every time.

I remember that tour where the started with So What and all the lights on. Unusual but was cool to see them playing like that. Friends thought it was a fuck up....nah, Metallica don't fuck up like that.
