Melodic death metal at it's finest, anyone a fan? Post you favourite choons and CoB related media.
And this has my second favourite metal intro, of all time, next to Hit the Lights

Follow the Reaper is one of the best metal albums ever (if not THE best). Still astounded by how good it is 17 years after first hearing it (can't believe it's been that long).
Hatebreeder and Hate Crew Deathroll are also brilliant.
The only shit album they've done is Blooddrunk.

I like Hatebreeder and a bit of Hate Crew. Haven't paid much attention after that.
My recollection of Follow the Reaper (haven't listened to it in years) is that it was a bit too on the power side of things and so I never gave it proper listens. I remember thinking it to be clearly inferior to Hatebreeder.

I've been a fan of Children of Bodom since their first single back in 1997. They're one of Finland's greatest metal bands and one of our proudest exports. My favorite albums from them are Hatebreeder and Hate Crew Deathroll. I like the older, more black/death tinged albums better, but even the newer ones, which are more groove/thrash oriented, are pretty good.

Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper were two of my favorite albums when I was younger, have to admit I don't listen to the band much these days.
Everytime I Die has one of my favorite guitar solos.

This just might be my favorite Bodom song of all time:

I've been a fan of Children of Bodom since their first single back in 1997. Did you see them with Alexander in the band? I would've loved to have seen the classic line up but by the time I first saw them Roope was in.

I quit paying attention to their new releases after Blooddrunk. I've been told the last couple are better but just haven't bothered checking them out.

They haven't made a bad album, per se, but the few latest ones are a bit stock. Competent, decent, but not great by any means. Their first four though... Oh man. Good times.

Blooddrunk is the absolute nadir of their career. It's definitely worth checking out the stuff after that, particularly Halo of Blood. That's their best since Hate Crew.
