What do you guys think is the best solo on HWTSD? I don't know if that Halo solo can be topped! Definitely Halo or NTWD. They're the only two that remotely sound written out, along with bits of Spit (though that's also a mess).

Halo and Spit. Spit sounds completely written out.

The solos are all terrible, but if I’m forced to pick one I like the most it would be Halo On Fire.

Rewatching SKOM....really appreciated the thinking behind Shoot Me Again. Lars v Napster, was it worth being hated and did it achieve anything? All the shots I take, I spit back at you. That is fucking awesome

That is fucking awesome Always liked that song and the thoughts behind it Yeah, I liked Lars explaining how he felt and Hetfield turning it into lyrics. There's lots of cool stuff in this doc I didn't notice the first second and third time I wish we'd have got to hear the album the band themselves wanted to make without interference from the outside. I love the music that Torben said to delete, and Cliff Burnstein telling them to drop the more diverse stuff and make it a relentless, uncompromising album changed everything

The St Anger reissue, when ever it comes out, will definitely have a lot of cool extras I imagine.
Robs full auditions on DVD DKR in full Presidio material
Who knows.

Is there any need for a Black Album, Load and Re-Load remaster? I like Hardwired sound but I'm sure that modern Metallica would make those albums sonically worse

Yeah, I can't see how they would make the black album sound better. Whatever happens, I sure hope Bob is involved, its as much his baby as it is theirs.

TBA is like the pinnacle of production, it'd be a pointless endeavour.

It's interesting that HWTSD is a really good album but has 2 of the worst Metallica songs ever (ManUNkind and LOS).
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It baffles me that HR is actually contesting that ManUNkind is worse than We Did It Again, Dead Kennedy Rolls, LuLu, and most of the St. Anger album is insane and needs to be check into a asylum. Sure it's a bit generic, but really? It's worse than KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL! or Enoughsenoughenoughsenoughenoughsenough????

I understand that people hate it but I wouldn't call it generic. To me what's generic is Hardwired or Murder One or My Apocalypse. On the other hand ManUnkind is quite unorthodox (in context of Metallica's catalog).

A bit generic, not totally, that whole off time section is cool and why I like it, the main riff is why its only a bit. They could've done a bit more, but someone in the band is a tad limited in skill. Murder One is definitely generic, I was convinced when they said they were gonna do a Motorhead tribute, it was gonna feel like a Motorhead song...nope.

That 3/4 beat in ManUNkind is just horrible, i hate it. LOS has one of the worst riffs they have written.

ManUnkind and LOS are indeed both horrible. They don't compare to Atlas though, what a stinker
