If I was stuck on an island and could only have one of those two album, I'd go with St Anger. Reload is definitely at the bottom for me. There's some cool stuff on there though.

I agree St. Anger is their worst album and most of their songs on there are bad, but I like Purify because of the riffing. The whole section with "I ain't dancing with your skeletons-ah" makes the song tolerable. ManUNKind I like too, again the riffs. I don't know James' riffs can't suck. I dig the outro riff on Purify. One of the few riffs I like on that album.

St. Anger has loads of cool riffs I think, I loved the album when it came out but it hasn't aged very well.

St Anger is definitely the heaviest Metallica album, hands down.

TBA is the 'heaviest' Metallica album imo. It depends what one defines as 'heavy'

I still think Mistress Dread is the worse thing they've ever been involved with.

Nothing tops We Did It Again. Wrong as usual... More times than not, when you disagree with something that just means it's the correct answer.

I can tell you one thing, after watching that video just now. They were fucking lost without James Hetfield. Even for a year, look what they did. Jesus Christ. I didn't know that even existed.

You mean you guys have surely seen the title 'We Did It Again' before, and never bothered to look it up?

It's downright embarrasing watching that, I had to switch it off when Lars and Kirk entered the studio. Worst moment in their carrier by far... Together with Atlas Rise obviously

I don't mind We Did It Again. It's not great, but it's not offensive to my ears. But I like rap quite a bit, too. So that helps.

lol, Atlas Rise shits over the entirety of St. Anger. To be fair almost anything recorded shits all over St Anger. On topic, I was listening to AJFA on the way to work today and then after the album finished my player just moves onto the next album, in this case it was Beyond Magnetic. What a steaming pile of shit that is.

Little did I know that they were actually COMPLETE songs ready to get mixed that just didn't fit on the record. As far as Atlas goes, for me it's one of their best songs post load/reload.

Beyond Magnetic has many cool moments.
All four songs are better than Hardwired, ManUnKind and Am I Savage.
