Worst song on the first 5 albums? HAS TO BE PULLING TEETH.... Escape and it’s not even close. WTF? Escape is pure class...

I'd actually say Leper Messiah is the worst song.
It's pretty meh.
And I LIKE the song.

Hit the Lights is way too happy for me, was never a fan of that one.

I'd actually say Leper Messiah is the worst song. It's pretty meh. And I LIKE the song. Yeah, it's not one of their better ones. A fine song, but definitely towards the bottom of the list.

Leper is one of the best tracks on Mop IMO. Its so hard to try to rank the songs on MOP. They are all uniquely their own thing and awesome. The only bad things I can really say about that album are;
Disposable Heroes, as amazing as it is, is a bit too long and drags. Could have used 0-1 minutes less.
MOP is so overplayed that I'm bored of it, unless I'm at a show, and even then...
That's about it.

I'd say their worst song is The Thorn Within. I am a big fan of Load, but that one song just sounds like the afterbirth of that album.
And having said that, I'll still listen to it, because there's no Metallica song that's unlistenable, to me, but TTW comes last.

I'll say it again, their worst song is anything off of St. Anger + We Did It Again. Fuck off with all other suggestions.

Listened to one track of it, and yeah, I should throw that in too. If I was able to do the same with St. Anger back when, I wouldn't have bothered with the entire album.

It's a toss up between ManUNkind and Mistress Dread for me.
Mistress wins it just.

Loving ManUNkind more as time passes.
That bouncy riff is fun to play and the song is just quirky in a good way

You should at least listen to Lulu once all the way through. It's unintentionally hilarious but there's also some good Metallica riffs scattered throughout the album.

I like Lulu precisely because it seems to piss a lot of people off. It was kind of a risk, but not exactly one they were staking their career on. It was just a cool opportunity that happened to come along, and they said, "Fuck it. Why not?".
A lot of people seemed to miss the 80s Metallica when the 90s started, and from that point on. But the Metallica I miss is the one not afraid to do some shit that might alienate a portion of their fanbase. That's what always made Metallica stand out from your Slayers and your Megadeths, bands who would not step out of their corner for fear of pissing off their dogmatic fans and falling into oblivion.

I actually pmsl when i first listened to Lulu, 3-4 good songs but it's fkn hilarious. Cheat On Me, Iced Honey and Dragon are good, the rest is shite.

Meh, it sounds too stock, and the verses are obnoxious.
I'm surprised they never made a video for it though.
2x4 is the better of the 2 by far IMO.

I think Devil's Dance is one Kirk Hammett's better latter-day solos. It may be short and certainly no technical masterpiece, but it's got a tonne of attitude.
