He could have done so without "forgiving" him. I'm pretty sure he said it in the sense that Chris always felt like he was never forgiven, so Hetfield was saying "WE forgive you, even if you couldn't forgive yourself". Much ado about fuckall is what this is. James hasn't forgiven himself though for cutting his hair in 1996. Hence U4.

There is no rationalizing suicide in the first place I disagree. There are circumstances where suicide would be a perfectly rational thing to do.

Surely Hetfield has more insight into who Cornell was as a person then either of us do, so it's not outside the box to think he may know something we don't. So, as to what, fuck if I know.

Do I need to quote a dictionary definition of what it means to forgive? You have to believe you have done something wrong to forgive yourself, it's pretty self explanatory. So basically, you have no idea either and my assertion it was something to do with Hetfield's faith is just as valid as yours. Alright then.

Do I need to explain how one person can believe they've done something "wrong" and someone else doesn't believe they have? It's not a hard concept to grasp. You know exactly what I mean and you're nitpicking it. So basically, I added another possible explanation to your assertion, not taking away from yours, and then added that I think all the hoopla is making a mountain out of a molehill. I don't think what he said is a big deal, and I don't think it, in any way, was crass or disrespectful. I mean, we can go back and forth all night but what does that accomplish? Not everything has to be an argument or debate. Your explanation is just as plausible as mine.

Exactly, all James wanted to do was convey his sympathies for Chris and his family. He could have done so without "forgiving" him. Maybe it's about something we don't know, like Chris porked his wife or something...

If someone I knew committed suicide and then someone else said they forgave them for the "sin" of committing suicide, it would irritate me to say the least. But neither of us know why he said it do we, so let's just go out back and rub our DICKS TOGETHER.

By Killing yourself, you are abandoning a lot of people, but you can't take it anymore.
People always ask their loved ones for forgiveness in suicide notes, or probably as their last thoughts, wanting forgiveness for all their faults , wrongs, and finally abandoning the people they love.
James forgives Chris.

BHS is their Sandman, or maybe Spoonman is their Sandman. Either way, when those are the only Soundgarden songs you can like, that's when I know you get your butthole waxed, and by a Russian man.

I don't like Spoonman and can barely tolerate BHS. Not because it's a bad song, but because it got played out in my youth. Mailman is a decent enough song. FoBD is pretty cool. Other than that, never been a fan of Soundgarden. I was too busy devouring the death metal scene when that shit was at it's peak.

Toxicology reveals he was loaded up on prescription drugs upon the time of his death. www.blabbermouth.net/news/chris-cornell-toxicology-report-reveals-several-prescription-drugs-in-singers-system.html#iQ5giSFcewM6TKGy.99These mind altering, legal and overprescribed drugs are destroying our society. I hate how our consumerist and instant gratification culture has driven us to go and buy a pill to solve all of our problems. Got a runny nose? Go buy and load up on psuedaephidrine! Stressed out? Go buy some xanax! Get anxious on a flight? Double down with xanax and prozac. Have a sore back? Endone and some oxycontin should do the trick. Wash it all down with plenty of booze of course, after all, you're going through a rough patch and you deserve to have a good time. While you're at it, go and buy a $500 handbag/new car/whatever to take your mind off things. You work hard and it'll make you feel better! Can't sleep because of your crippling debt? Here take these sleeping tablets. The human race managed to survive hundreds of thousands of years without all this shit. It'll be a big part of our downfall. /end rant.

Sure they can, especially if they are combined incorrectly or the dosage is off. Haven't you even seen the commercial for the medication that helps you quit smoking? One of the side affects is suicidal thoughts.
