Megadeth's The World Needs A Hero and Youthanasia. I used to like both but they sound horrible with time.

Morbid Angel - Illud Divinas Insanum (not sure if that's right?)
The one with Too Extreme!
As an album, hugely disappointing.
As comedy, fucking golden.

And you would be very right in doing so. It's a fantastic album. I know!! It was also my first Megadeth album back in the day. Same for me. I had heard of Megadeth, but never actually listened to them. Then I saw Youthanasia at the local library, and decided to give it a go. And I liked it.

It seems everyone I've talked to has said Youthanasia is one of their best albums. I do not know why. It's a mediocre album with uninteresting riffs, dumb choruses (which the songs emphasize) and awful vocals. There are only 2 good songs, the rest is a bunch of boring crap which I'll never understand all the praise for.

Although that song is different from everything the've ever done, I became a fan

We all know Cryptic Writings is the best Megadeth album. Youthanasia is boss though. Always found Countdown to Extinction to be lacking a little bit. Still decent though.
A few others mentioned in the thread: The World Needs a Hero - Shit. One of the worst Megadeth albums. United Abominations - First few songs are good, then it's downhill fast. Super Collider - Not nearly as bad as the rep it gets. Probably score it around 6/10.

Countdown to Extinction is my favourite MD album, but I'm not a huge fan of the band overall. I think they have a bunch of great songs scattered throughout their albums, but no album is particularly strong on its own.

I think RIP is a great album all the way through, but as far as the other albums go I agree with your comment. Flashes of brilliance, large spots of boredom.

Then again, I'll never understand all the praise for All Nightmare Long, Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn, so... There ya go. We all know Cryptic Writings is the best Megadeth album. Youthanasia is boss though. Always found Countdown to Extinction to be lacking a little bit. Still decent though. YES! Cryptic Writings for the WIN! Although I think Countdown is actually a tiny bit better than Writings. But it's close! Which brings me to... Let's rank all the Megadeth album's time! ... in the Megadeth thread.

Slipknot's last 3 albums. Vol. 3 was okay but the last 2 are shite. Any ounce of quality the band once had is gone at this point.

I would say A Matter of Life and Death is one of the best modern Maiden albums.
Much much better than the few before it and FF
