The most recent Devin Townsend Project album was extremely disappointing to me. Nothing he's done since Addicted! has topped it. Transcendence? Not really a surprise, he's been pretty fed up of the DTP for a while now, he even says it in interviews. On the other hand, not even Deconstruction? Don't get me wrong, I love those albums. They just can't compare to Addicted! for me. All the other albums by DTP have some good songs on them, but Addicted, every song is a great song. The album just flows perfectly.

I really liked Transcendence :/ Never really cared for DTP until I listened it, something just clicked and now ive got most of his (solo) stuff.

Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier I agree, there's one good song on it (Eldorado). Nah mate, there's loads of great songs. Could just do with one or two being cut and a track list rejig.

The most recent Devin Townsend Project album was extremely disappointing to me. Nothing he's done since Addicted! has topped it. I haven't heard Transcendence but I have heard the first 3 DTP albums and Deconstruction is a better album than Addicted, imo. Both are great albums anyway though. For Devin Townsend, I'd say his real disappointment was Ki. That album has like 3 good songs and the rest is dry and uninteresting ambient rock.

What made Deconstruction a better album for you?

They were both great albums but Deconstruction was slightly better in that it just felt more massive and had a lot of moments that were just breathtaking and very climactic. Like from the first moment of Praise The Lowered to the final "STAND!" that ended this album the whole thing felt like a journey (which it lyrically was, sorta). And it was just a very "epic" kind of album. Addicted to me just kinda feels like a collection of good songs. Plus there are a few moments in Addicted that were kind of mediocre, like The Way Home!. Deconstruction was a perfect album front to back for me.

I get you. Funny thing, I consider The Way Home one of the best tracks lol.
I dunno, Addicted feels more like a complete statement to me.

Alanis Morissette follow up to Jagged Little Pill, Former Infatuation Junky or something. That was disappointing, except for Thank You. That's probably her best ever track.
DOWN 2... Yeah I went there...

I listened to it again some years ago. Probably the first time I listened to the whole album actually...there are a few more good tracks but yeah, it's no Jagged little pill. Yes, Thank you is so great! I think You learn is my favorite Alanis Morissette song, but Thank you is definitely top 3.

DOWN 2 is their best album. You shut your whore mouth. It's shite.... 2 good songs out of 15 tracks. (There's Something on My Side/Ghosts Along the Mississippi)

addicted, deconstruction, alien are fantastic albums.
but the epicloud pop metal thing is tired now, even he says he's sick of it. i hope transcendence is the last.
the reason theyve done those albums is because a lot of people really like the epicloud style and it sells decently. or i think thats what devin said. who and where these people are i dont know but they need some goddamn taste.

The new Metallica.
I had high hopes because DM has potential plus you hear them in interviews correctly identifying the flaws in their post-TBA output. But they never fix anything. They still are incapable of trimming down unnecessary sections and refuse to cut the mediocre tracks out. The second disc only has one good song (the last one), the rest is uninteresting boring songs like the worse ones on Reload. The title track is embarrassing, Moth and Atlas belong to shite like current era Machine Head, and Lars and Kirk continue to phone it in.

Megadeth's UA.
Decent advance songs but then the rest is awkward sounding metal-by-the-numbers.

Megadeth's UA. Decent advance songs but then the rest is awkward sounding metal-by-the-numbers. Disagree, that was their best album of the 21st century. The songs were executed perfectly, and the album had the band's best guitar solos in a long time. Have you even heard Sleepwalker or Burnt Ice? Those songs are top-tier for Megadeth.

Machine Head - Unto The Locust and Bloodstone and Diamonds are both crap. Go to bed, HR, you're drunk.

Chinese Democracy is brilliant. Certainly as good as either of the standalone Illusion albums (perhaps better).
