Basically the nu metal era, where I saw a lot of bands I liked sell their ass, especially when it was towards the end of that era and some of the bands doubled down on it like the style was gonna last forever.

I'd say Death Magnetic too. I was so into Metallica when it came out plus it was the first new album from them since I became a fan. It felt pretty underwhelming as I remember. I'm still not a big fan of it, but I appreciate it more nowadays.
Chinese Democracy from GNR is another really disapponting one.

I still really like The Astonishing musically overall but the story is godawful which is unfortunate.

I know I'll get some flack for these:
Mastodon - The Hunter Ghost - Popestar
Black Sabbath - 13 Machine Head - Unto The Locust Foo Fighters - whatever the latest one is called Down II Down - Over The Under Metallica - Reload
At the time: Pantera - Reinventing The Steel Metallica - Load
There are plenty more that I can't think of right now.

I've got a feeling Mastodon's new album might be a shitter judging from the first 2 tracks.

Queensryche-Operation: Mindcrime II and Dedicated to Chaos. In reality, they jumped the shark 2x: First in '97 when Chris DeGarmo left for good and then in '12 when Geoff Tate quit/was fired. No DeGarmo, music & song writing suffers. No Tate, no Queensryche.

Have you heard any of the music with their current singer, or watched any live footage? Dude's got an incredible voice and can sound pretty similar to a young Tate at times. In 2013 (I think?) when Tate started his own band and also called it Queensryche, both versions of the band put out a new record and Tate's was not very good imo.

I know La Torre can sing, but I'm not interested that much. Probably my loss, lol.

Soulfly - their last 5 albums. I thought they had turned a corner with Prophecy/Dark Ages but shite ever since.

My usual go to picks for this sort of topic:
Alice Cooper - Along Came a Spider Alice spoke this up big time in the media, but the end result was incredibly uninspired, with some poor lyrics from the usually dependable wordsmith.
Kreator - Phantom Antichrist A real let down after three incredible albums. Very few riffs of note, which is a crime for a writer as good as Mille. Lead guitar work is amazing though.

The most recent Devin Townsend Project album was extremely disappointing to me.
Nothing he's done since Addicted! has topped it.

Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier I agree, there's one good song on it (Eldorado).
