Consider how much you may have to shell out. Ticket GA $165 but the re-sellers could push prices to $400. Gas and maybe a motel to stay overnight if tired. $50 - $200. Tour programme $30 + Tour T-shirt $50 Beer $10 Pizza $25 Credit card fees if you haven't got enough cash 10-20% of purchase.
However plus points are the new songs can be long. That gives enough time to go for piss and comeback in time for MOP. :)

It's just how the venue is set up. In the round is much more plausible in football stadiums, especially indoor ones, versus baseball stadiums, for instance. My heart is racing right now, if I don't get decent seats, I'll be heated. I've never seen this fucking band before. There's no such thing as decent seats. Standing every time! Yup, this.

I felt the same all night and this morning said fuck it, you only live once. This could very well be the last time I see Metallica, you never know what the future will bring. And my last show a few summers ago was tainted due to the fact that I kept passing out from dehydration and ended up in the medical tent for the last quarter of the show. Damn that blows. I've seen them before in an arena so I'm good. Even the cheap seats at the Baltimore show are 100+. I tried talking myself into it but damn. You have a family and all too right? I can understand it must be hard to spending that much. But it sucks if you can't go :(

I like how everybody who lives in America has been pissed about them not touring in the states for God knows how long, then they finally do it and everybody moans regardless.
Of course it's fucking expensive. Is that really a surprise to people? It's Metallica ffs.
And of course, this is not aimed at people who either can't afford to make it, family obligations or some other matter make them unable to go to the shows, I was just talking in general.

I have seen Metallica many many times before and have never had to pay this much. Its crazy this time. That's why I'm so shocked. These tickets today cost almost twice as much as all the other shows I've been to.

I'll survive I guess, I was hoping there would be some cheaper seats as advertised yesterday but they all ended up being over 100 bucks.

I'll just wait and see if any tickets end up being sold for cheap as it gets closer to the gig. I doubt it but who knows.

None of those are really problems to me, apart from the ticket (if they're even coming to Finland this year). I have lots of friends living in Helsinki (where the gig would probably take place), so I don't need a hotel room. I travel by bus, which is dirt cheap in Finland nowadays - it's 9-15 euros from my home town to Helsinki, depending on the departure time. I never buy tour programmes, why the fuck would you, that's the dumbest merch item ever. T-shirt, eh, maybe? Probably not though. I never buy any beverages or foodstuff at the venue, I eat somewhere else before and after the show. And finally, I don't have a credit card. So...

Yeah, I never got the people who pay for the program, especially now a days with online show schedules and stuff. Maybe at a big festival with lots of stages to run to.

As usual no Cleveland date on leg #1, we always get skipped on the first leg (we were skipped on leg #1 in '04 and '09) and I'm kind of glad because hopefully on U.S. leg #2 or 3 they won't have Avenged Sevenfold w/them, lol.

$10 dollars for a little plastic cup, half filled with foam. Pretty much. That's why you drink BEFORE the show. Although I don't even drink at concerts anymore. If I'm going to spend so much on a ticket I'd like to remember it.

Expensive as hell but probably because of the big support bands. I paid 100€ per gig for Copenhagen with completely unknown bands. For that money you have to pay for the NA concerts you could go to a 3-day festival here in Europe.

I think people are pissed off because the band have been goofing about the last few years when they could have been doing stadium tours of the States. I just hope they come with some elaborate stage like a starfish so they can have ramps. That way 3 members can get close to the fans on the fringes. However that requires extra security and expense.

I bought 2 today, this will be my 14th show, most expensive by far paid $140.00 for each fees were additional $25.00. Ticketmaster says price is from $59.99-$159.99 so if you wait for public sale you can get a cheaper ticket in nosebleeds. I figured why not, one last time just go for it, figure out how to pay for it later.

To be fair, I did see Black Sabbath last year for only $35 on the grass with a good view :P. So it's possible, but I'm sure it was like $80-$100 for my ticket and seating when I saw them in 2009. I also got a tour shirt for it too so another like $40-$50 for that. It was an indoor arena so honestly, for all of that, it wasn't bad, except for the fat asses eating popcorn in the seats in front of me and watching Metallica like a movie.

If the band got some sponsorship tickets would be lot less. If only they could a tie in with Budweiser or McDonalds. Damn I just remembered James is tee total and Kirk is a vegetable. If they had announced arena shows the cheapest tickets would be $400.
