I've always wanted to make those two albums a trilogy. Kind of arrange them like their 80's albums. Hm... opening tracks: Fuel Ain't my bitch King nothing King Nothing as an opener ?

1. Wasting My Hate 2. Until it Sleeps 3. Where the Wild Things Are 4. Hero of the Day 5. Fuel 6. The Memory Remains 7. King Nothing 8. Bleeding Me 9. Prince Charming

I'd have gone with Outlaw or Fixxxer for track 2 since that slot is always pretty long and epic, but other than that that works.

I'd probably make the three albums open with Fuel, Attitude and Prince Charming.

The time limit of fitting on one CD is 79:59. Using time calculator, I tried to compile the albums together. Ignoring album flow (I'll do that later) I added up as much as I could fit in one album. To get all the songs I wanted, it still didn't fit.
1. Ain't My Bitch (5:04) 2. 2 X 4 (10:32) 3. The House Jack Built (17:10) 4. King Nothing (22:38) 5. Hero of the Day (26:59) 6. Bleeding Me (35:17) 7. Wasting My Hate (39:14) 8. Thorn Within (45:05) 9. Fuel (49:34) 10. The Memory Remains (54:14) 11. Devil's Dance (59:32) 12. Where The Wild Things Are (1:06:26) 13. Low Man's Lyric (1:14:03) 14. Attitude (1:19:19) 15. Fixxxer (1:27:34)
And I was really sad that songs like Cure, Better Than You, and Prince Charming still didn't fit. So I tried something else. Making the loads 3 albums. 9x3=27 which is also 14+13, so that would be all of the songs on load and reload spread out onto 3 albums. This could ease some people's complaints about Load being "too long". Plus songs like The Outlaw Torn could be unedited and complete. So overall, this works out better. Now, I get to focus on album flow...
The first album "Load", would have the more heavy songs to "ease into" their new style, as well as two main singles "Until it Sleeps" and "The Memory Remains". Here's how I would organize the album:
1. Fuel (4:29) 2. Wasting My Hate (8:26) 3. Poor Twisted Me (12:26) 4. Until it Sleeps (16:55) 5. 2 X 4 (22:23) 6. Thorn Within (28:14) 7. The Memory Remains (32:53) 8. Attitude (38:09) 9. Fixxxer (46:24)
Album length: 46:24. This gives them enough time to expand upon some songs and make them longer, having plenty of album time, and still remain under an hour.
The second album, "Reload" would be very "one size fits all" of the load/reload songs. This one flows the worst, but it still works good.
1. Ain't My Bitch (5:04) 2. Cure (9:58) 3. Bad Seed (14:04) 4. Hero of the Day (18:25) 5. King Nothing (23:53) 6. The Unforgiven II (30:29) 7. Devil's Dance (35:47) 8. Better Than You (41:08) 9. Prince Charming (47:13)
More or less similar to Load, but still somewhat different. I think with these two more heavy albums will help "tr00" fans get into the next one, which I think is great, but I'm the 1%.
The third album "Unload" would have the more "out there" songs,
1. The House Jack Built (6:38) 2. Ronnie (11:55) 3. Bleeding Me (20:13) 4. Slither (25:26) 5. Mama Said (30:45) 6. Where The Wild Things Are (37:39) 7. Carpe Diem Baby (43:51) 8. Low Man's Lyric (51:28) 9. The Outlaw Torn (1:01:17) - of course, this would be a bit longer because The Outlaw Torn would be uncut
Album length: about 1:01:17-1:03:30ish. Of course, this is the longest one because it contains the epics. Still, it's only barely over an hour, and still shorter than And Justice for All, so complaints would be invalid.
Now, this would please fans and maybe people could warm up to the loads more, because they are great, underrated albums.
But as it still stands, I'm satisfied as long as I get all 27 songs.

Damn..don't think I've seen that before. In the grand scheme of things, I'd be okay with having all the songs released, because there's nothing really St.Anger bad. But at the same time, it's less about some of the material being different from the rest of their discography than some of it being quite average. I think it's better to be in ruthless music producer mode and not being okay with songs which are just "okay" or "cool" songs, and aim for the highest quality possible. And so, if you really want to still release some of the stuff, use them as B-sides or something like that.

I've tried over the years to make the trilogy but every time I do, it's a struggle within. :p You need to find a cure to go through the never and create a list with attitude, that's what mama said. If not, you might feel like you're trapped under ice. That would be sad but true.

If not, you might feel like you're trapped under ice. That would be sad but true. Unfortunately, it's NOT all within my hands. But you're right, what I need to do is purify myself from the unnamed feeling. I won't be using sweet amber to do this though because I realize it will just shoot me again and because of this, I fear it may do something troubling to my world to make me feel like an invisible kid all alone again. So, I'll just gaze out my dirty window and...OH SHIT! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SOME KIND OF MONSTER? It doesn't look like a saint! Anger is what I'm seeing in this monster and it's coming right for me through my window! It's so frantic in it's movements!

King Nothing as an opener ? I was thinking kinda like Enter sandman. That's the thing, I have a feeling Metallica were KIND of tracking it like The Black Album with this demo. 1. "Load" (King Nothing) 5:50 2. "Devil Dance" (Devil's Dance) 4:46 3. "Streamline" (Wasting My Hate) 4:20 4. "Bleeding Me" 8:36 5. "Bitch" (Ain’t My Bitch) 5:31 6. "Fixer" (Fixxxer) 5:57 7. "Mine Eyes" (Low Mans Lyric) 7:58 8. "Skimpy" (Carpe Diem Baby) 6:24 9. "Unforgiven II" 7:14 10. "Outlaw" (The Outlaw Torn) 9:18 11. "Memory" (The Memory Remains) 6:44 12. "Fuel"

I've thought about this long and hard. And I've come up with my final list. I've ignored the limitations of a CD (or it's spread over two, whatever works for you). Running time was not important to me but placement of the songs was. So. Behold.

It was quite awesome as strange as it was.

Okay, I thought long and hard and this is what I came up with. In the normal format of a Metallica album.
1. Fuel 2. Fixxxer 3. 2 x 4 4. Bleeding Me 5. Attitude 6. Bad Seed 7. King Nothing 8. Poor Twisted Me 9. Where The Wild Things Are 10. Carpe Diem Baby 11. Devil's Dance 12. The Outlaw Torn (unecumbered or regular, whatever fits) 13. Prince Charming (with extended solo)
Ain't My Bitch, Thorn Within and Low Man's Lyric are B-sides to singles Fuel, Attitude and King Nothing. In those complying orders.
Didn't test this on time calculator but it should work.

Running time was not important to me but placement of the songs was. So. Behold. I've been trying to put together a playlist on iTunes for a short while now and song placement is the problem I have. I pick the songs but I find it difficult to put them in an order that flows well. Might give some of the tracklists here a go.

I'ma give this a shot, also tried to give it some decent pacing.
1. King Nothing (5:28) 2. The Memory Remains (4:39) 3. Bleeding Me (8:18) 4. Devil's Dance (5:19) 5. Fuel (4:30) 6. Until It Sleeps (4:30) 7. The Outlaw Torn (9:49) 8. The Unforgiven II (6:37) 9. Hero of the Day (4:22) 10. Fixxxer (8:15)
iTunes playlist has it at exactly an hour. So there's enough room to throw on something like Thorn Within and Carpe Diem, but I wanted to keep it no more than 10 songs.
