Seems fine to me. Maybe they don't like the new stuff as much as you do. Or they're old and their hips hurt if they jump around too much. Or they wish STEEL WOULD QUIT OVERANALYZING EVERYTHING METALLICA AND GET HIT BY A BUS. Christ, why would they wish that? Seems a bit extreme... Steel, you smooth cock. Finally you speak the truth. I do have a very smooth cock. Cocks aren't supposed to be smooth, Steel. They're supposed to be rugged, and veiny, and look like they could power the Large Hard-on Collider with one thrust... Hm... This pontificating may not bode well for me...

I'm starting to realize I am slowly turning into yepsure. I honestly don't want to spend $150.00 on tickets if I'm going to get the same songs I've heard fifty thousand times, and if it is a stadium tour I think that will happen. I think the reality is, is that's why the setlist is like that, on the flip side. As most people aren't going to these shows, paying $150, to hear St. Anger and Low Man's Lyric. Know what I'm saying? They are in fact, going, to hear those songs, or ones like them, in that setlist, give or take. A set full of 'undeniables', one after the other, so the shit is lit the whole time.

I just have to rant sometimes about shit that bugs me. I think Metallica is so easy to over analyze because they give the fans so much shit to analyze. It's almost hard not to do it at times. Lee Claire always talks me down. Although now I want a sword fight instead of a gun duel.

I wonder if Hetfield has shotgunned any of Lars' art yet for making him go through that Grammys fiasco.

We're not saying that should break out Slither and Eye Of The Beholder, but just that it'd be cool to see them mix up the sets the way they did from 2003-2013. Instead of Creep/Sanitarium/Bells/Fade/Roam/Unforgiven/Battery/Blackened/Fuel/Memory at every show or rotating every show, throw in No Remorse, The Four Horsemen, Fight Fire With Fire, Ride The Lightning, The Thing That Should Not Be, Leper Messiah, Disposable Heroes, Damage Inc, ...and Justice For All, The Shortest Straw, Through The Never, Of Wolf And Man, My Friend Of Misery, King Nothing, Until It Sleeps, Hero Of the Day, The Unforgiven 2, The Unnamed Feeling, That Was Just Your Life, Broken Beat and Scarred, The Day That Never Comes, All Nightmare Long, Cyanide, I Disappear, Turn The Page, Whiskey In The Jar, Last Caress, Am I Evil. They have this huge back catalogue of songs that are not only loved by die hard fans, but are extremely popular and saw huge commercial success amongst the mainstream and with casual fans. All these songs could be in and have been in rotation in years gone by. The same fans that know Sanitarium are going to know Of Wolf And Man. The same fan that know The Memory Remains are going to know The Unforgiven 2. The same fans that know Battery are going to know The Four Horsemen.

I would LOVE to hear Misery again. That song was fucking awesome live, I'm surprised they gave up on it. The middle section with the crowd singing is one of my favorite Metallica live moments.

Just watched it there. Just reinforced what a top vocalist James is, after he finally joined the rest of them on his own mike. Consummate professional too. Love him.

God dammit, just go to the fucking show and enjoy yourselves, you will get plenty of new material. It's not like they played DM in full the first months of the tour, not at all actually. The new songs are worth it live, the rest is like it's always been, there's no difference between now and when DM came out, it's exactly the same. You guys are pretty obviously burnt out on Metallica. Every damn newspaper in Denmark gave them 5/6 stars at the last two shows, they were fucking amazing. The setlist structure I can agree with, but what they hell should they do, begin with NEM and end with Hardwired ?

It's like, you're looking for things to cry about, even if they're not there. No matter what Metallica does, you will not be pleased. Something's ALWAYS wrong, and if one little thing is wrong, EVERYTHING is BULLSHIT.

At least I haven't started saying the band should play So What like at the MTV Europe awards if they ever get invited to the Grammys again.

So you guys are incapable of debating or discussing the points we've raised.
It's like being on judas - "FUCKING WHINING HATERS METALLICA 4 LIFE COME TO ARGENTINA KIRK I LOVE YOU METALLICA TOP OF THEIR GAME BEST BAND PF ALL TIME \m/"
Sure thing. The setlists are great. The band look pumped and excited about the album and tour. Kirk is at his peak guitar playing ability. The hype train is rolling on Metallica.com with heaps of MetOnTour and Making Of content. Lars isn't bald. The VIP packages don't really exist. And finally, the Lady Gaga Grammy performance was their best since Moscow 1991.

Can we all at least agree that maybe it's time for someone to tell Lars "Hey man, you guys are at your best when it's just you four out there playing together. Bringing someone else around usually doesn't end well."?
Anybody? I know they like to experiment but fucking with the dynamic of the band seems to cause problems. The guys just are much better when it's just them jamming. Although I didn't hate the Gaga thing as much as Lang Lang or Lu Lu.

Some opinions, some facts.
I'm coming across way more passionate about this than I intended, it just annoys me when anything that is perceived as negative about the band is dismissed as entitled whining. You can't criticise the band on Judas without the mob jumping on you, and it feels like a similar thing is happening here.
They gave us an awesome new album, I'm happy. It'd be cool if the band were a little more enthusiastic about promoting it and touring behind it as we saw with the last two albums, but my life doesn't change either way until they roll around to my city.

After an album is released the only thing to really talk about is them playing live. We have discussed virtually everything else about this band. The band also releases live videos for every concert they play, so they obviously encourage the fans to discuss it as well. Bitching about something that is promoted and released by an artist is perfectly fine in my eyes. We have all done it at one point or another and there is nothing wrong with being passionate about something you love. Yepsure and I LOVE Hardwired and are just a little upset that the way the record has been handled post release has been underwhelming by Metallica's standards.
Fucking sue us.

I loved the performance w/GAGA last night. The microphone fiasco for half the song pissed James off, lol, but it happens.
