If they are doing something I hope it's just one song. Please not another collab album that delays the release of the next Met album. I enjoyed Hardwired too much.

I would not want another collaboration even if it's good. BUT HOW WILL WE KNOW IF THEY DON'T TRY IT!?!?

Us: "Because of facts A, B, C, D and E, we're concluding X. X sucks. I hate X." You guys: "Stop whining" "You're PMSing" "You're so entitled" "Your opinion is stupid" "You're stupid" "Your opinion is so stupid it's funny" "You're being sensitive" "You're being uppity" "I hate you" "I really hate you" etc... But yeah, I agree that you're dicks. You saying that Metallica are going through the motions, aren't enjoying themselves, age burnt out, etc. aren't facts. They're your opinion. Like my opinion is I disagree with all of your opinions concerning Metallica's showmanship these last two months. Correct, they're the "X" I was referring to above. The only subjective part of the argument is us saying they don't look that energetic on stage. The rest is factual. Fact: The setlists aren't as diverse as they were between 2003-2013. Fact: Metallica are playing mostly greatest hits sets. Opinion: Metallica look less energetic and enthusiastic on this tour than on tours prior, especially the DM tour. Fact: Metallica are playing less shows per year than the DM tour. Fact: Metallica had a whole new indoor stage production built for the Death Magnetic tour. Fact: Metallica are mostly playing stadiums this time around (so far). Fact: The volume of Metallica.com content regarding this tour is less than the volume at a similar point of the DM tour. Fact: The frequency of tour related content getting posted to Metallica.com regarding this tour is less than the volume at a similar point of the DM tour. Fact: The volume of Metallica.com content regarding the new album release is less than the volume at a similar point of for DM. Fact: The frequency of new album related content getting posted to Metallica.com regarding this tour is less than the volume at a similar point for Death Magnetic. Fact: There have been less media appearances surrounding the new album release and tour this time around compared to a similar point on the Death Magnetic release/tour. Conclusion/opinion: Based on the above, it feels like there is no real energy or hype around this new album/tour anymore, and it feels like they're just going through the motions to meet their minimum tour requirement, rather than genuinely want to go out and celebrate their new album and their band like they did with Death Magnetic.

I think it would be cool if they did a song together, yeah. Lady Gaga feat. Metallica or vice versa. I say let them do what they want.

I would be all over a full GagaTallica album. Please Lars, make it happen! And those who bring up Lulu - NOTHING could possibly be as bad as Lulu. Besides, Lady Gaga is about a thousand times more talented and interesting than Lou Reed ever dreamed of being.

Fucking 5 minutes of cringe! Not that i have a problem that they played with Lady Gaga or getting even further into the main steam shit storm, don't give a shit about all that as long as they come up with something cool but that show wasn't cool at all. Awful stage with those ridiculous dancers + Lady Gaga usual crap leaving aside the mic being off for the first half of the song. horrible.
Best part of the show was Lars while lady gaga was aruond him. priceless face =)

The problem was that 2011 wasn't the year he was at his most inspiring for music in general.

I would not want another collaboration even if it's good. So you would prefer Metallica to release a bad album by themselves instead of a good album with Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga is about a thousand times more talented and interesting than Lou Reed ever dreamed of being. I'm going to have to heartily disagree with you on that one.

They should make a cool cyber punk mini movie thing, like 30 minutes. Awesome visuals, and a unique soundtrack of original music from both camps.

Right, your conclusions on all of that are opinion-based. Like ours were when responding to you. The only real fact is that they're older, so they're playing fewer shows, so there is less website material. And we could argue about setlists, but from my POV they don't seem to be doing much different than they've always done: play the hits, mix in some new stuff, maybe a cover or rarity. Energy and enjoyment levels of the band members is entirely subjective. So you taking umbrage with our opinion on your opinion-based conclusions is what this is all about. We're arguing about each other's opinions... Goddammit.

There was nothing heavy metal about it. It was some stupid contrived bullshit with the production values of a low budget late night MTV program designed by what a bunch of suits think "heavy metal" is. Stupid actors, cheesy flames, choreographed and unnatural dance moves and stage dives. It was a genuine embarrassment. Wow this has turned into a shitstorm!! Oh well it's still good we are talking about it all and the band again, we have a lot more to come... Regarding your contrived comment- honestly, we're you surprised? I mean really, have you forgotten the whole stunts tour and stage crash? Hetfield and his knee drop at the start of sandman everytime? Metallica family? Hell, the entire through the never movie, plus so many other little played out and scripted things they do? I mean I'm not saying you're wrong about the gaga performance but it is anything but surprising from the band at this point... Sure be disappointed about it but this was in no way out of left field. It totally makes sense they would play that song. Its what they played on most of their lead up to the album release and the lyrical content and collaboration with gaga makes sense. Regarding the setlists, so far it has been dull but hopefully the tour from now starts to deliver. We have had awesome things from the band the last decade. The kill/ride/Puppets/black complete album sets, the 30 year anniversary shows, there has been a lot to stay interested. Let's just hope they start rotating the sets a bit but if they are playing 5 new songs a set it doesn't seem that likely. I remember how fucking cool it was when they started playing unforgiven 2 and how awesome it seemed live. I want some more like that. Also since we are all squabbling in here now and I have the mic for a second I'd like to take the opportunity to tell you all to suck my balls. Thanks and I'll be back again real fucking soon! CAN I GET A HYUUUUGHHHHH

According to Lars on the Late Late Show last night, James was more pissed off about the whole Grammy fiasco than Lars has seen him in about twenty years.

If they do a covers album I wouldn't mind her on one of the tracks. I don't need other artists ontop of Metallica material, less Hetfield vocals is always a bad thing

It also seems like they were more upset about not being introduced than anything else.

I've listened to Velvet Underground and Reed's solo stuff, and for the life of me I can't figure out what made him so revered. Maybe it's a case of "you had to be there", but to me, his alleged genius just doesn't shine through.

Can you please re-enact the interview in your own video and make it available in my country?

Metallica & Lady Gaga Grammy performance with James's vocalsSo I don't know if this is true, but apparently the mic didn't work on TV, but on the web feed it was fine. So there were different wires for different feeds, and the TV one got cut off. Either that, or this guy combined the audio with James's vocals from somewhere else. Either way, this is what it SHOULD'VE been. Pretty cool.
