Talk about/discuss whatever music you want. Music is talked about more or less everywhere here, but I thought we could have a thread solely meant for that so here it is.

I am very excited about this. Is it just for one gig?

They'll probably reunite when Mango Mussolini gets shot up / kicked out of office.

Just seen Meshuggah live, it was their first ever headlining gig in Ireland. It was fucking amazing.

I just want to say that I think Robbie Williams has made some amazing songs and is a great entertainer.

Haha that was great. Paul really is a complete dick though. Totally. It's a shame because the musicians that were playing with him kick ass.

Brendan "Cygnus" Brown is out of Ne Obliviscaris due to irreconcilable personal differences. Damn, this might be a gamechanger...

Feel bad for the band members after I saw how he treated the lads on the stage when he played down here. Complete cunt to them really, made me feel uncomfortable watching from the floor.

Yeah I agree. Feel bad for the band members after I saw how he treated the lads on the stage when he played down here. Complete cunt to them really, made me feel uncomfortable watching from the floor. What did he do? From what I understood, he didn't bring a band with him and instead had local dudes back him. He was really rude to them and his mannerisms suggested he was already pissed off at some of them before they started. At one point, a guitarist had trouble with his pedal board. Until that was sorted he (obviously) couldn't move on to the next song and Paul was kinda eye-rolling at him and getting angry that he had to wait. Poor dude was panicking, trying to sort it out himself and all he could hear was Paul bitching and trying to get the crowd on side by making fun of the 'moron' who's holding everything up. Was ugly. I felt for the dude. And the band were really on it, making more of a show than Paul ever could. My favourite parts of the night was hearing those early Maiden instrumentals. (Paul probably needed to pop backstage for an oxygen fix) Paul openly states he doesn't really like 'new' Maiden, straight up bags the only reason he is even performing on stage. He tells the crowd he doesn't give a fuck if they don't like what they are hearing, fuck Bruce and I was more into the punk thing than metal anyway so get fucked. OK man, whatever, wish I didn't pay for this. Had been excited in the lead up, lots of people all out in the beer garden talking about how lucky we are that we are gonna see the original Maiden singer!

That's a shame. I haven't kept up with his career, it sounds like that's a good thing.
It's a shame though, he's always been underrated imo.

Speaking of Maiden singers...I know I've posted this once before but it didn't get any reaction. I think it's pretty cool to hear a former Maiden singer sing a newer song:

That guy has three full albums of Maiden acoustic covers, and one of them is a double album. Most of the songs are instrumental but along with Blood Brothers he's also done Judgement of Heaven, Como Estais Amigos and The Clansman with Blaze on vocals.
The guy's name is Thomas Zwijsen; look for "Nylon Maiden" on Spotify. Pretty cool stuff.

Maiden Japan EP was played over and over when I was a teenager and probably enjoyed that more than the NOTB and Piece of Mind albums with the new guy. But Paul needed to be moved on so the band could take the next step. Paul would never have kept up to the level Maiden wanted to be. There was probably no need to fuck himself up and end up in jail though

Brendan "Cygnus" Brown is out of Ne Obliviscaris due to irreconcilable personal differences. Damn, this might be a gamechanger... Yeah. Pretty bummed when I saw that. He posted an interesting pic on Instagram - "two sides to the story all will be revealed" etc. etc. Maybe he got tired of all their Patreon Peddling too! I still think there's enough talent in the band to keep the songs amazing and interesting. - - - - - Looks Like Ayreon is putting out an album really soon. Arjen just posted the first track from it, 11 minutes, features all singers. Speaking of which, the singers reads like a best of for Ayreon. James LaBrie, Hansi Kursch (fuck yeah), Russell Allen, Floor Jansen, Tommy Karevik, plus Simone Simmons, Tobias Sammet, Tommy Rogers and a few more. Arjen really redeemed himself in my eyes with The Theory of Everything so I'll probably pick this up.

Wow, that was so fucking great. I've been looking forward to this for a while and now I really can't wait.
The commentary is also fantastic.
