All things Power Metal...
Favourite at the moment (obviously): Avantasia's "Ghostlights"...
The world needs more Kiske!

Not to familure with the genre, I love Profit of the Last Eclipes by Lucca Turilli, is that power metal? That album is just fantastic. Gets me going everytime.

Yes, Luca Turilli, more commonly known for his work with Rhapsody (of fire) is definitely Power Metal. For some people he is a little over the top i.e. a little too much dragons & elves ;) I prefer Rhapsody over his solo work and thought that "Prophet..." was one of his weaker moments. I'd recommend "Symphony of enchanted lands" (both parts). Great albums!

New Avantasia is amazing. Good shout for album of the year already. Really looking forward to the new Sinbreed next. Gave their previous album a few listens last week, really good stuff.

I just listened to one song from the last album. Need to check it out, too. Was surprised that Marcus left the band again...

Anthriel's the Pathway is a very good album. For fans of older Symphony X. More prog metal than power metal but they do have a power metal aspect. I remember someone here was quite a fan of them but can't remember who was that.

wow they are SO influenced by early Symphony X. "Heaven to Grace" is practically "The Accolade" 1 and 2. Riffing has a very Romeo-esque vibe.
