Who else is excited/intrigued about these sets? For those who didn't know, the band isn't allowed to play a handful of songs in China due to censorship laws, so stuff like MOP and One are barred from the set. With the new album out and these limits on staples, this might cause for one of the most interesting sets in a while.

That's a great point you make. Maybe they'll just play NEM 18x in a row.
Seriously though, what where some of the past set lists from China? Should give an Idea of what WILL be played.

I'm excited for censorship.
That's horrible, but I can't wait.

I wonder what they'll play. Unless One is no longer on China's shit list.

I think they could play Justice because in that song they're critizising western and more liberal governments and not the communistic ones.

Nothing too left field so far, but they opened with Breadfan and have played King and Horsemen.

Closing the main set with Day and Whiplash is for sure very interesting and unique. My main grip with that set is Sad and Roam being at the 11th and 12th spot but since One and Puppetz weren't allowed they had to switch things up.
Btw I feel bad for the Chinese. Just look at the GA section. They had to stay the whole show in their place and couldn't really move.

Not a single song from Master of Puppets. Has to be a first since the album was released.

I would love to read the reasonings behind the banned songs. Like what do the Chinese government have against Creeping Death? Is it the religious aspect? Or maybe they don't want 20000 Chinese chanting Die in unison. I'm very curious, would be an awesome discussion for a So What article.

It just might be that they aren't allowed to discuss the bannings in detail.

Just when you think Halo can't get any better, James does this intro at 54:01.
James also sounds really fucking good vocally on NTWD and Kirk is funny as fuck with the drumstick during the middle jam part, haha wtf?

Yeah, that was a cool intro!
Haha, yeah, was Kirk even hitting something? It looked like he did a hitting move but not like he was hitting something. : P

Haha, yeah, it kinda looked like he wanted to hit a cymbal or just something but was a bit shy/hesitant. Kinda looked the same way the moment before, when he stood there wanting to take a drum stick but seemed hesitant about it.

I feel like a magical deity for skipping perfectly to when Kirk had the drum stick in his hand. My biggest accomplishment of the year so far.
That Halo intro was a bit boring, but added a cool dose of ambience. I love when James adds in little intros in general though, like the beginning of Thingy at the Fillmore.

like the beginning of Thingy at the Fillmore. Watched it now. That was cool! Reminded me of the intro to Damage, inc. Don't know if I've seen it before or not. I wonder how he made those sounds.

Yeah, thought it was volume swells but couldn't quite get how he got the notes to sound so soft (in lack of a better word) and that there were at least two (harmonizing) notes played each time. You're probably right.
