What do you guys think Lars' best live drum sound was? I put in era's to make it more general, but feel free to narrow it down more if you want. Personally for me, it's a tie between Justice and the Black Album. Both kits sounded killer.

Nothing beats the Black Album era live sound, for the whole band. Nothing. Ever.

Are we basing our judgments on bootlegs, proshot, actually being there?

Are we basing our judgments on bootlegs, proshot, actually being there? Yeah, anything really. Actually being there would be best obviously but not all of us here saw them in 1992 haha. Sorry that I didn't specify that.

Well, I voted for the modern era. Best since 89-92 IMO. I've seen them live many times since the early 90s and the shows I've been to since DM just sound great. Maybe its mic technology advancements mixed with my age. When I was a wee lad, I was there to just rock out and have a good time, now I'm watching and listening with wisdom behind me.

Always loved Lars' silver kit in the 96-2000 era. His playing was so chilled and creative, and it sounded fucking sick.

DM to now. The sub configuration he uses live now is killer.
