The first American to orbit the Earth, John Glenn, died today, tells Time Magazine.
I was a major, major space buff when I was in elementary school, so I knew a lot about Glenn even at young age. Some of my greatest heroes were him, Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong. Glenn seemed to be a near-perfect role model even after his astronaut career, and went on to do great things. He was really old though, 95 to be exact, so it wasn't a great big surprise. Still sad, though.
Not the worst but definitely on the shittier side.
