What do you guys think the setlist should look like now that Hardwired has been released? Make it look believable. Here's what I think. Spit out the bone Creeping death Eye of the beholder For whom the bell tolls Halo on fire Dream no more The memory remains One Moth into flame Ride the lightning Blackened Master of puppets Cyanide Atlas rise Battery Nothing else matters Enter sandman Seek and destroy

Honestly, they'll probably play the usual classics (Sad, Puppets, Sandman, Fuel, etc.), but with 5-6 songs from HTSD sprinkled in. Hardwired, Moth, and Atlas are pretty much guaranteed, but i'm personally hoping they'll throw Spit Out the Bone, Halo on Fire, and Dream No More in there. I could see them busting out Murder One for Lemmy too, but those other three seem like they'll translate to a live setting really well.

They played all 10 DM songs at least twice during the World Magnetic tour, so I wouldn't be surprised if every song on Hardwired gets thrown into a setlist at some point.

Sort of based this around the DM tour template. Five new songs a night, though maybe a bit more variation between them as the tour goes on.
Hardwired Atlas Bells / Harvester / Thingy / Cyanide / Memory Ride / Remorse / Wolf / Straw / BBS / Leper / Holier / Horsemen / Fuel One / Fade / Sanitarium / Day / Unforgiven Dream / We're Dead / Halo Moth Sad Confusion / Revenge / Spit Bleeding Me / Outlaw / Deep Load cut Puppets One / Fade / Sanitarium / Day / Unforgiven (obviously not the one from earlier in the set) Creep / Battery / Fight / Dyers / Blackened / Damage / Life / Nightmare Nothing Sandman ----- Lights / Motorbreath / Militia / Phantom / Whiplash Cover Seek

If I were them, I'd stick with material from Kill'm all through the black album. Anything outside of this will serve as piss break opportunities and beer refill time for me, personally.. And I doubt that i'm in the minority on this, if the majority are being honest ..

Yeah I'm hoping for a deeper Load cut spot. Obviously they'll bring out Fuel amd Memory and probably King Nothing, but I'm hoping they take a slot for like Outlaw/Carpe/Sleeps etc., maybe even throw deeper TBA cuts in there, like Wolf and Misery.
Ideally for me they'd rotate Day/One/Fade/Sanitarium/Unforgiven in one or two slots.
So I hope for
Creep/Blackened/Lights/Breadfan Master Atlas Harvie/Bells/Seek Kirk solo One/Fade/Day/Sanitarium/Unforgiven Fuel/King/Memory/Roam/NTWD/Holier AJFA/Dispy/Nightmare/SOTB/Straw/TWJYL Moth Sad/Thingy/Dream No More/Dance Halo/Confusion/Man/Revenge/Savage/MO One/Fade/Sanitarium/Day/Unforgiven Sleeps/Outlaw/BM/other Load/Deep TBA Battery/FFWF/Damage/Dyers Eve Kirk solo NEM Sandman --------- Hardwired Trap/Phantom/Militia/Whiplash/Remorse Seek/Creep/Whiskey

All you need to look at is the chart success of the singles from Load onwards. The hardcore metal community that doesn't care for modern Metallica is not in the majority.

Sure .. if you say so, bro. Most old-school Met fans that I know thought that the Load albums were a load of crap. Basically, it's when Met decided to go EMO in the 90s in an effort to increase their chances at radio play. I will say that the Load albums, despite being lackluster when compared to their back catalogue, were much better albums than their last several. Anything post early 2000s has been pretty embarrassing, IMO.

It's even the ones that you know, clearly a huge sample size.
