I'm a bit confused by the placement of Murder One on the album, it's solid enough but putting it in between Am I Savage? and Spit out the Bone seems like a bit of a mood killer considering how balls to the wall those tracks seem to be (Haven't heard Spit yet).

Guys. Guys. Hey guys! I don't have a face anymore. It got ripped off, it melted. It's gone. I'm faceless.
Also, my erection slammed through my desk and split it in half.

See, this is why no one takes you seriously. How can say the songwriting is "off" then STILL rate it 7.5?!?!?!?! How does that work?!!?!?! Songs overly long, unnecessary riffs and sections, filler on CD2 etc etc... I like more than half of it don't get me wrong, i suppose i was expecting something a bit better. Maybe i'll change mt mind after a few more listens. Overly long? Yet in this very thread you say: I agree the DM songs were more to the point DM is the very definition of overlong with unnecessary riffs and sections. Oh we don't doubt you will change your mind. The problem is that none of us know whether this is a real change of opinion or you just being, well, you.

Excuse the hyperbole but the final part of Halo is the best thing they have ever written

I think I would really like ManUnkind if the drums weren't trying to play a different song entirely. Was that the song with the weird time signature? Or was that just Lars...? Haha

Halo On Fire from 5:48 is one of the best thing they've written. That melody with that vocals , wow... I don't know why but it felt like a farewell.

02. Riff Charge (Riff Origins) 03. N.W.O.B.H.M. A.T.M. (Riff Origins) 04. Tin Shot (Riff Origins) 05. Plow (Riff Origins) 06. Sawblade (Riff Origins) 07. RIP (Riff Origins) 08. Lima (Riff Origins) 09. 91 (Riff Origins) 10. MTO (Riff Origins) 11. RL72 (Riff Origins) 12. Frankenstein (Riff Origins) 13. CHI (Riff Origins) 14. X Dust (Riff Origins)
So RIP = Halo. Can see the Dio tribute there. Lima: Anyones got the gig? See if the main riff in Confusion was jammed there? Dream No More = 91. Sad But True reference. Sawblade = Obvious that riff in Savage

I'm pretty sure there has to be some kind of legislation against the sheer heaviness of Am I Savage?. I mean, seriously. How heavy can a song be?
In other news, Dream No More is seriously fucking awesome. As is Halo On Fire. Confusion is great, Now That We're Dead is great, and I think that Murder One is damn good for what it is, although I expected the music to be more motörhead-esque. ManUNkind needs some more listening, I didn't get it at all on the first listen. It's seriously all over the place.
Oh, and not loving Spit Out The Bone on the first listen. It had really good parts, the intro was seriously awesome, but then it ran into some problems further on. I'll have to listen some more.
Now I'm listening to I Am Savage? again. HOW CAN THERE BE SOMETHING THIS HEAVY.

Wow, Spit out the Bone is happening for me right now, James showing the kind of vocals that many thought he had lost, the next test for him is to achieve those vocals live but having the knowledge that he can belt out some growling mega vocals like that in the studio makes me a very happy man. Loved the main riff too.
I will give the album another spin when I'm trying to sleep later on to truly digest all of this, it's all happening too fast for my brain to handle.

Which one is your favorite chorus (chorus melody) on the album?
Edit: This is a question for everyone.

That section with the vocal echo in ManUn is pretty sweet.
The drum pattern reminds me of this bit in SKOM :D

I'm surprised that James still can scream like he did on TBA. It resembles his TBA vocals mostly on chorus.

That's what I miss the most so far. Overall I feel that Death Magnetic have quite a lot more strong choruses than this album.

I kinda see what you are saying, but I don't think about it like that, I just want chorus to be good. Dream No More haven't got a fancy melody in the chorus but that doesn't matter, it's fucking amazing anyways

3rd list to MO - I'm loving the main riff. Such bounce and groove.

I actually think MO could have been on the third disk and I would have been happy.

I feel like Hardwired master is different on album. I noticed that right away. I think vocals are layered too on the album version.
