Can someone answer me if there's the link of CD 3 somewhere ? If there's not, at least I will not be looking for it. Seems odd that it wasn't included by the original ripper.  Do want to hear the updated LoS. |

Alright, here is my impression after first listen:
Best song: Moth into flame
Worst song: It's between Now that we're dead, Am I savage? and Murder one
Best aspect:
The vocal harmonies!
Worst aspect:
Most of the choruses are quite weak. Overall the vocal melodies sound a little uninspired too often.
That said...
Best chorus (as of now):
1. Moth into flame
2. Hardwired
3. Here comes revenge
...And I was right in predicting that I would think Spit out the bone is better than My apocalypse.

Really, Really dug Halo On Fire, some of the second portion flew over my head so I'm gonna have to listen again to really get the impact of the track but the first disc really is something special.
You remember when Kirk said that they took sections of him cocking around on his guitar to warm up and structured it into an intro for a song? which track was that? Dream No More?

I love that it's the first time since Reload that they've written (for the most part) coherent SONGS that flow well.
It's very Loadish in the mood with some thrash srpinkled throughout, but they seem very comfortable in this style.

In just finished my first listen through, man I'm so overwhelmed right now. I seriously loved it, this is everything I could have hoped for :) I do agree that the drums in ManUNkind were weird but I still enjoyed it, Murder One is the only song that didn't blow me away. I think I'll be listing to this album on repeat for a while to let everything sink in.
I can't believe it's really, finally here guys :)

Songs overly long, unnecessary riffs and sections, filler on CD2 etc etc... I like more than half of it don't get me wrong, i suppose i was expecting something a bit better. Maybe i'll change my mind after a few more listens. |
