I wonder if Dave wrote any of the songs on HWTSD.

I wonder if Dave wrote any of the songs on HWTSD. Dave wrote all songs ever made, even the ones made before he was born. GWAR defeated the dinosaurs and stretched their small intestines across the Grand Canyon, forming the first musical instrument and therefore the first music heard on Earth. That's why GWAR get money every time anybody plays a note from the western chromatic scale.

There are some dodgy songs on HWTSD: Revenge, Dream, Murder One, ManUNkind.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall any discussion on how many songs were written for Hardwired. Could it be possible there are leftovers that could show up in the 2041 release?

Somehow I seem to remember that maybe Robert or Kirk said in an interview that there were 12-14 songs they dabbled with while making Hardwired. I'm not 100% though. And nothing Rob or Kirk say in interviews can be considered canon anyway - James and Lars are the official sources

They had 30-35 'ideas' at some point but there's no word how far along those got. I'm sure there's more complete demos than just the 13 final songs.

I doubt it. I think that they're recorded everything they had this time. If there is anything left out that didn't make the album while murder one did then I don't want to hear it.

Many of those ideas could have been folded over onto each other to complete songs.

Also, they had everything written, but were missing an opener, so they wrote Hardwired.
I think Lord's of summer was the only "leftover"

Was just about to comment that including Murder One kinda suggests there was nothing left

Ugh that album would flow so much better if that song was straight up deleted.

Both Murder One and Lords of Summer are so much better than ManUNKind and Hardwired.

Manunkind > LOS > Hardwired > Load and Reload fillers (Slithers, Cures etc) > Half of St Anger > Murder One > Those 2 whatever the fuck they were from 2006.

Both Murder One and Lords of Summer are so much better than ManUNKind and Hardwired. Hardwired slaps, I don't wanna hear any of this. ManUNKind is probably their worst arranged song from this album, but the parts are really cool so it gets a pass from me.
LOS got too neutered in the studio, I wish they thought more about it than "let's make it a minute shorter somehow". But I still agree with that take.

I enjoy Lords of Summer. Murder One I just can't get into. ManUNkind is alright but still on the weaker end of the album. I don't care for Hardwired.
My quick takes.

How dare you all not like Hardwired!
Tbh if it was any longer than 3 minutes I'd probably like it less, but it's so short that the stock-ness of it doesn't phase me.

Hardwired...the album doesn't make sense without it, I'll give it that. They wrote it for that reason.
