This album is damn fantastic. I'd put it over Hardwired depending on the time of day, and that says a ton. It just moves me some type of way.

I'd put it above Hardwired on a purely musical level, but Hardwired and Metallica in general have more personal meaning to me. Both records are very closely tied for my AOTY.

I was afraid I was the only one. But this album just has something about it that's grown on me like no other album. I really didn't like it at first but when i started paying attention to the organization and musicality, it blew me out of the water. Definitely an all around grower.

I loved it right from the get-go, but it definitely has a lot of layers and requires several listens to really pick everything up. Paradigm has a few spots that almost feel like a throwback to WtF, the fast parts in Simulation give me a bit of a CoE vibe, and songs like Goddamn and Creating God are just damn catchy. Though Save Me is still my favourite closer, Exist is still a brilliant song and damn near masterpiece. As much as I love Metallica I can admit that A7X are more capable musicians, but I'm listening to Hardwired just as much as I did The Stage in its first few weeks and still love it.

They're a non-mainstream metal band How exactly are they a non-mainstream metal band? I mean, how do you define mainstream metal if A7X is not part of it? I'm genuinely intrigued. and the album has been met with critical acclaim. HA! Punny.

Yeah, A7X aren't on the level of Metallica but they're definitely mainstream as far as metal goes.

You still hear Metallica songs everywhere, for example, and material all the way back to the black album is still paid fairly regularly. That is not the case with A7X. That's how I'm defining mainstream anyway. Edit: That joke went way over my hahaha, I've been having a stressful day. That was not intentional lol.

Ah, so you meant more like a metal band that's in the mainstream, rather than a band that does "mainstream metal". I can see the difference.
