Jorge Jesus is one of the most infuriating managers ever. This guy is paid millions but has his blinkers on all the time and only plays his fetish players.
William Carvalho can't play vs Juventus, so instead of drawing in Matheus, Palhinha or Petrovic (you know, the other centre midfielders in the squad) he's adapting wide player Bruno César to the middle of the field. Against FECKING JUVENTUS. Dog damnit. I'm scared of this one, not going to even watch the game. >:D

scoring an own goal in the 91st minute and losing 1-0 after looking reasonably competitive is probably the most accurate representation of brechin city's season thus far

(Well, last spot, not the measly two points) last spot absolutely, two points is a disappointment especially as they haven't actually been awful this year: every game has been competitive, they just do not have the players or ability to finish. unfortunately, because last place was expected, the owners have zero interest in spending - brechin are already one of the poorest and lowest spending clubs in the scottish league so this exacerbates our issues. most frustratingly, had games ended at 80 minutes (for whatever reason), brechin would have had about 10-11 points. there's an obvious conditioning issue, a part time team in a professional league, as well as further reinforcing how poor a) brechin's finishing is and b) the league as a whole really is.

I'm loving it, actually. Can't say apart from that late 80s to mid-90s Serie A that I have ever liked anything about Italian football, both on the pitch and structurally.

i love the neuroses of it tbh. the paranoia and inversion of what football should be. i grew up watching it, ironically supporting milan who were the first to break out of catenaccio (though, their defence was always always staunch (maldini <3)) and think it acceptable to score lots of goals and attack.
the actual model of italian football is dire. even less self aware than the SFA.
this whole ventura trip feels a lot like badoer or fisichella in 2009: the organisation saw no alternative, as a patriotic italian he stepped up, he was exposed. i have no idea who they have in mind to replace ventura once he inevitably exits the role, they've just moved the "not having conte" problem along a year. i see the shadow of ancelotti looming...

who had 4/6 scandinavian*** teams** qualifying for the world cup then?
**assuming that denmark don't drop two goals, which tbh i can't see ROI managing
***nordic/scandinavianesqueish/northern european states with crosses on their flags and are more functional social democratic states than the uk nations, YOUSE KNOW WHAT I MEAN

further compounding our terrific season, brechin were tired against celtic in the scottish cup.
worst, it's a parkhead anaw so we can't even claim an injured celtic player from our "pitch".
sad season.

Fkn Liverpool almost lost to Arsenal after winning 2-0. Klopp has done well finishing 4th with the 6th best squad, but his blind spots with the goalie, center backs and DM are baffling.
