I still don't see Het prioritising some shitty TV performance ahead of a genuine Metallica show.

That was really good! It was cool that they played it.

Kirk nailed the solo and once again Lars' kit sounds great.

It's probably great promotion for the album/tour so I guess they want to be in shape for it and also because of them sharing the stage with another artist.

Another angle. I sound like a broken record but I'm really impressed with Lars lately. Dude is killing it.

I bashed him as much as anyone. But he has really improved. He has... A lot... He really is on fire and when you are so close, you can see everything he does behind the kit, fuck me I don't wanna try that shit when I turn his age. Dude packs in a ton of energy in every performance. Stomping away on the kit like a monstrous mammoth smashing everything on it's way, I was blown away by him at both shows. And yes, his kit sounds amazing, best snare sound in years, the kick drum is unbelievable as always, the toms was nicely balanced and when he was hitting the biggest floor tom the arena was literally shaking. When you add the mighty sound of Rob you have one hell of a groovy cocktail, Dead now has my favorite intro of all their songs.

And then what is completely FUCKED is the LiveMetallica mixes because they in nooooo way do him any justice. God, I wish somebody was in charge of mixing those shows and actually would take their time and do them right. The problem probably is, I don't mind waiting, but there are A LOT of demanding fans who absolutely must have their hands on the show they went to at the latest a couple of days afterwards.
And of course the manpower argument that was presented in the "Metallica random thoughts"-thread.
Again, LM rant over.

So back home since yesterday evening. The show on Thursday was way more awesome than Tuesday's gig since this time I was second row right in front of James' gear and right next to Rob's gear. He made some funny gestures when he was there resting. Sure, the engergy and the performance itself was better on Tuesday since they were back in (almost) full force but for me it was a very cool experience seeing how Chad and Zack handled things backstage. Also managed to get a pick. At those two shows I saw Ktulu, Whiplash, Blackened finally and the Hardwired songs for the first time. Ktulu was just monstrous despite the fuck up from James at the beginning. That was my highlight. Now here's to hope some European dates will get announced this month.

A few pics of mine from the two concerts if anyones interested Look at those shoes, I've never seen anything that ugly Awesome guitar This has become my favorite axe of his, it just looks so damn cool Kirkster Kirk v2 My favorite pic James during, you can guess what song Robster I thought to myself the whole first show what this thing was, it never did anything. They used it at the second show and fuck me it was bright. I've neen seen such a sharpening light in my life, very uncomfortable when in the front. I guess it looked cool from the seats though.

The real question is...
If James plays on one of Kirks guitars, will it still be out of tune?
