Load was released in June though. If Cliff lived, Load would have come earlier tbh

^ Probably instead of Metallica in 1991. He was huge into Thin Lizzy.

Now that the day is here, no more jokes This was posted on metfor. I love it. What a guy Ray is. I said on the other forum, he managed to make my tear up a little and smile at the same time. I can see why the band holds him close to their heart and lives Also could I be bold enough to suggest modifying the thread title to something a little more, um I dont even know what, sombre? serious? No offense to thread starter

Nice Kimbo, thanks. I hope you don't mind jetpacksam
Agreed. Ray understands Cliffs place in fans memories and it is super awesome of him to share like this.
I have other reasons I'm not comfortable sharing right now, about why I have such respect for him. He was the one who lost the most and yet he is the one that consoles / listens to others.

I have one of those HD music players, something silly like 3 times the but rate of CD, you can hear everything! I was listening to Kill Em All last night, and some of the bass licks that go unnoticed on an iPod or something... some really great shit.

I know its not Cliff but I just heard the bass on Moth properly for the first time today. Seems like Rob might be allowed the freedom and respect Cliff got from James and Lars when recording. I think it was Cana from old forum that showed me this pic of Cliff. Its been a favourite ever since. (cant find the non-text version she had) Also heres a pic of him wearing the same shirt on stage. Awesome.

Yes now go listen to the remastered version, the bass is much more clear on that one

Cliff would have been 54 this year... mad.
For me he was the Randy Rhoads of bass. I can't say enough good things about this guy. Legend. Sucks I was born a few years too late to see him live.

I vividly remember listening to Am I Evil? in my car while parked up on top of the local shopping mall, in the very early 90s Admittedly I was there getting bent but it was the first time I heard a section of Cliffs bass that I had not "heard" before. Very familiar with the song then hearing that little high bit was such a highlight, I love when that shit happens. And it was probably all due to that stereo as opposed to the one in my lounge.

30 years! What the hell, time flies. I remember being a 14 year old little head banger, getting really high and watching Cliff em All and "Hearing" bass for the first time. Before that, I never heard it. But ah, when I did, OMG, my brain just locked on to Cliff and that was it, in an instant, I understood the greatness.
Cliff was just so awesome, and only 24. Even today, he seems like a guy in his mid 30s. Wise beyond his years was he.
