So San Diego was the best! I dunno about crowds at other shows but it seemed like everyone near me was hyped as fuck! So much fun and everyone I met was so nice....much different than some other shows I've been to *ahem tool*. I loved the show! I nearly screamed my tonsils out when James pointed towards my section! Kirk messed up a few times but it doesn't really matter. The drums were whatever....they weren't bad but they didn't necessarily bring anything to the show either. Mix master mike was a big wtf but I did like a mix he did of Oren saying "if any of you sons of bitches....got anything else to say...NOWS THE TIME" cuz of course. Besides that it was so much fun! Jumping around and banging my head to every song and chanting 'Die' during creep....it was the best!

You know, I've had the habit of listening to every show as they get released. Remember when I was back in primary school I listened to every 2004 show while I was working, just because I was a diehard at the time and still am, but with these America setlists I don't know. I've listened to many already, but it is all the same. Same setlist, same speeches, same everything. Hopefully it gets crazy again setlist-wise in Europe.

Although lots of different songs back then, the base of the setlist is the same. The banter, presong talk, the ending (thank you speech, robs 360 spin) etc are the same. |

Do you mean that they play one/puppets/seek/sandman/ every single time? Again that argument can be made for their entire touring career on only since DM. In fact from DM to HTSD their setlists were the most diverse since...ever? From 2010 to 2015 each year was very different from another.
If it comes to 2017, I completely agree that during NA tour Lars does't mix it up much. The only variety was during Mexico shows and that (and their tuning room talks) gives me a lot of hope for Europe arena tour. It's like Lars is afraid of pulling some less known tracks for US crowds. I guess he doesn't want 50k people to wonder what the hell is the song they playing.

 @ James at :52. Love that clip. I believe it was a guitar problem that Kirk had, which is funny because at the start of the song at a gig a few days before James' acoustic was out of tune so he kicked it over and just played it on electric. Here is the clip. I'm starting to think Metallica has the worst guitar techs ever.

That's actually why I searched for the Denver clip, since it was the show after! I was curious if since the acoustic might've been fucked up (because of the kicking, not the tuning), James used the electric again.

Lars fucking up royally, band struggling to recover, Lars fucks up again even worse, band can't recover, song is finally over and kirk starts playing the solo again. One of the worst botches I've seen.
