I'm talking post-TBA, just to be clear on the line since some purists don't like it. So, Load/ReLoad, St. Anger and Death Magnetic (Lulu doesn't really count as it was a collaboration). Obviously a lot of metal artists have cited Puppets and their 80s output generally, but I've heard little on their 90s work as an inspiration to other bands (except that Dave Mustaine was prompted to write Risk at the insistence of both Marty Friedman and Lars Ulrich to go in a more alternative direction). Do these records have a legacy of influence or is their legacy simply built on what went before?

It depends... Many singers have been quoted saying they used to sing along to Load because of the amazing vocals.

Does my (now defunct) band count?
