Holy mother of God, Ride the Lightning tone sounds awesome.

The "KEA" tone sounds a lot more like the DM tone than the KEA tone, and tone that's supposed to be the black album doesn't really sound much like anything. Other three are good though. Holy mother of God, Ride the Lightning tone sounds awesome. Yeah they did a particularly good job with that one, and just like RtL it sounds pretty epic.

Puppets one sounded like puppets. Black? Have a word.

Really dig it with the RtL and MoP tones, didn't really care for the others. Whoever put this together did a pretty good job though.

Sorry, but none of the clips sound like the albums they are claiming to represent.

More lifeless "laptop metal" from another attention seeker. I get a better KEA tone from my old little Valvestate but I guess that wasn't too bad for an amp simulator. The last one sounded more like a badly EQ'd Metal Zone pedal through a 10W Jim Harley amp than the Black Album lol

These tones have actual definition in the alt picking. This is something that is going to forever bother me about this new album. There just had to be something...

Why didn't they do it in the style of Load to DM. That would have been more interesting.

I thought it sounded pretty good for what it was... Black album version could use some work. Load/Reload version would be very interesting with a slowed down riff.

I thought it sounded pretty good for what it was... In my experience this typically means "It was mediocre at best." I really do think the Lightning one was really well done. The Puppets one was pretty good too, it just needed more layers of guitars to really get that thick, crushing sound. The Justice one has that tinny, lifeless production with obnoxious-sounding drums that we all know and love, it also needs more layers though. The Kill and Metallica ones totally miss the mark.

RTL was spot on. the rest questionable, and TBA was terrible

This youtuber's done a far better job with the AJFA version, he nailed both the guitar and drum tones imho.
Enjoy

Now someone has to do Moth Into Flame with the Black Album tone, that would sound godly.

And Moth For Flame!
That shows just how much a difference production/tone makes. That was a little too authentic though, no bass, heh

I gotta say... That AJFA Moth sounded really, really good. And I got what the reason was: no singing. That's the single biggest gripe I have with the song, I now realized it. But goddamn, really good job by that dude.

I think he actually recorded a mic'd amp, instead of plugging directly into the soundcard with a fucking amp simulator. This guy just GETS it. Funny but clever nods to the Disposable Heroes solo... He sounds more Kirk than Kirk.

It's nice to actually be able to make out all the notes in the solo.

Kirk plays a ghost note for every normal note. He's so good at that and does it so fast, that's why people think he's sloppy. Pure misunderstood genius.
