Thought I'd create a thread for general horror related things. So I've downloaded this app called Shudder TV and it has so many interesting horror flicks that I want to check out. Thing is, if it's something truly scary, I won't be able to watch it alone and not get spooked by my shadow and random noises for the rest of the night. It's vampire week or something on the app and all of the movies look really good and I want to watch them......but I can't do it alone! I think this is the sole reason boyfriends were made, to cling to and duck behind during the scary parts and be there so you can get some sleep once the movie is over...

If only my pocket book would allow it! Shudder TV is great, it came with my Hulu device. It has a ton of genuine horror movies that look really good. None of that campy stuff, none of those lazy horror films that go for cheap jump scares....just true horror films.

I got a year's subscription when I brought my Roku box and I might renew it once the subscription runs out next year (if I have a bf to cling to while watching it by then ) because it's so good! TONS of great horror options, just about every movie they have is something I'd be interested in watching... You can see all of the movies they stream on their website here (http://www.shudder.com/). For some reason, the website only display's in Internet Explorer for me....

Lights Out looks like uber generic cattle prod cinema shit. I might watch that when it comes to Redbox, it got decent reviews. 'Don't Brethe' on the other hand is getting excellent reviews! Looks pretty interesting imo...

An American Werewolf in London is awesome. One of my favourite films of any genre. Quite gruesome and funny in equal measure.

Alien/Aliens are great films but are they really horror? I always thought they belonged more in the science fiction genre. I may be wrong though.

Alien/Aliens are great films but are they really horror? I always thought they belonged more in the science fiction genre. Often debated. Ridley though has stated time and again, he wanted to make the ultimate monster film that solves the only plot hole in every other horror film: You can't just leave. There's no way out, until about 1.25 hours in, there is no option of escape for the characters. Add in what Ash does to aide and abet Wayland and the Xenomorph and that just ups the horror aspect. Remains the scariest film I have ever seen. IMO: Theatrical Version is the best cut, although I did a custom from the Blu Rays and spliced in all the DC parts into the theatrical except the cocoon, that just doesn't work. Aliens:Not a horror film, imo. Action/Sci-Fi with monsters in it. Tip: See the Special Edition Of Aliens - Much better imo. #3873/5000
Ediit: Resurrection, while a horrible film, is only horrific if you watch it.
