I recently bought Vol 1 Album Collection of Bruce Springsteen. Contains his first 7 albums, so far have spun the first 2 and looking forward to going through the next couple on the weekend. <3 Bruce is top 3 in most important artists for me...I just bought his autobiography and I'm really looking forward to reading it. Yep I'll be reading that too at some point. Can't say I know too much about his life to be honest, yet his music has been around forever

Do you have a favorite album of his? Its hard to pick a favourite but I would think Born to Run and DarknessOTEOTown would be up there. One that I really liked back in the day was that big Live set he released. I never bought a copy of that on CD and can't recall listening to it since it was a newish release. Maybe I should find myself a copy of that too.

Maybe I should find myself a copy of that too. Done. Found the CD set for just under $18AUS. Thanks for the inspiration LM As a bigger fan than myself what albums do you regard as his best?

Haha, great! : ) For me it's The River. There are just so many songs on that album that I love. He has made more complete albums conceptually speaking (among them the two you mentioned, which are definitely among his very best) but there's just so much beautiful stuff on that album. The River, The price you pay, Wreck on the highway, Independence day, The ties that bind, Jackson cage, Drive all night, Fade away, Sherry darling, Point blank...and I could go on.

Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Classic album. 10/10
Fates Warning - Parallels
Great album despite that it sounds very old now. 9/10
Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian
The album that affected many prog/power metal bands. Very good.
Insomnium - Winter's Gate
I spare 40 minutes everyday for this album since I first listened to it.
Jim Matheos - First Impression
If you like mellow, acoustic instrumental stuff with some cellos and violins, this is the album you definately should listen to. Beautiful work by Fates Wawing main man Jim Matheos.

It just so happens I listened to The River last night and agree there are a heap of good tracks. Nebraska up next but as it is our holy grail AFL grand final day today acoustic guitars and beers by the BBQ and TV are on the cards for the next 12 hours. Nebraska will have to wait til tomorrow

Only one album to start the month with. An amazing album by an amazing band. Every passing year without new music from Peter is a kick in the bollocks.

Been listening to Setantia's debut "Darkness Transcend" a lot today. Really, really like it. If you like Gorguts you should too. Not as atonal as Gorguts (therefore a bit more approachable) but has that same knack for atmosphere.
