Using new metbb post #500 to tell you all that I still think Modern Vampires of the City, of course by Vampire Weekend, is probably the best album of the past 5 years. It is sooooooooooooo good. I love it and I love metbb <3

My daughter lent me her Leon Bridges CD. I'd never heard of him Was a half decent listen actually, you wouldn't think its a 2015 produced album.

I'm listening to Apocalyptic Love by Slash and Myles Kennedy. Pretty good (I already have World on fire and love that album.)

The Levitation Hex - Cohesion
I really enjoyed their self-titled album, but on first listen I'm a little disappointed with this one. It's solid, but few songs really stood out. Hopefully it'll grow on me, because as I said, I loved the debut and also the forerunner band, Alchemist.
Sig:Ar:Tyr - Northen
This is great, folk/viking/pagan metal.

Schammasch - TriangleAmbitious, 3 disc album (each having a playing time of 33:30) of atmospheric, post-ish black metal, somewhat along the lines of Blut Aus Nord, Altar Of Plagues etc. Have only had one listen which isn't really enough to absorb this properly, but I'm liking it very much indeed. schammasch.bandcamp.com/

Sig:Ar:Tyr - NorthenThis is great, folk/viking/pagan metal. Really underrated band. His (well I guess he's got a band now) is really strong. Definitely one if you dig Bathory or Falkenbach esque metal. Have you heard the album that came before Northern? Godsaga? It's another solid release. My latest plays: Flying Lotus - You're Dead Ulver - Bergtatt Kamasi Washington - The Epic Agrypnie - Aetas Cineris Lovely stuff all around.

My daughter lent me her Leon Bridges CD. I'd never heard of him Was a half decent listen actually, you wouldn't think its a 2015 produced album. Yeah he definitely has that classic soul R&B sound to him that is really nice. my problem with him though is that I really like his songs but only if I go through a few at a time. I find the album a bit too one dimensional and same-y. Even though it's around 35 minutes long. Same thing happened to me with Charles Bradley. I've his first two LPs and like them, but his newest that just came out bores me.

Even though it's around 35 minutes long. Yeah I can see that too. It does help that the album is not a long one. Was just enough for me. Will be keeping the copy I have and will take another listen at some point soon.

Opeth -Deliverance Yep, still utterly brilliant.
Old Man Gloom - The Ape of God I don't know if I've mentioned my love for this album before, but it's seriously a phenomenal album. I think I may put it in my top 10 of all time. It's just such a punishing, powerful album. Great riffs, great production, great everything! Love the fucking guitar tone.
