This is pretty interesting.
Not chorus laden if that's what you're looking for. It's like one intro build up after another, type of approach. Not regular songs. More like one big song. It's like, modern psychedelic, semi-Tool like.

This album is awesome. Singer reminds me a bit of Geddy Lee.

White Zombie, Megadeth's and Sepultura's covers are stellar This album was responsible for sooooo much in my metal fandom. I found this CD at the local library and recognized a few names - although I hadn't really listened to much metal outside of Metallica at that point. After listening to this album, I started listening to Megadeth, Sepultura, White Zombie, Type O Negative and of course Black Sabbath. Really widened my horizons beyond Metallica. One of my all-time favorite albums.

Yeah same for me, that NIB album got a tonne of plays. Loved the Supernaut cover.... "put acid in your veins" Symptom of the Universe never sounded so great.
The 2nd red one was a stinker compared to the first

Anathema - The Optimist
Didn't really click with me on the first listen. I love their previous 3 albums so I had pretty high expectations. Hopefully it will grow on me with more listens. Stand out tracks to me were The Optimist, Ghosts and Back To The Start.

I'm working my way through Elvis Presley's ' The Gospel Masters' 4cd set. last night I fell asleep to disc one. tonight I'll put my headphones on and listen to disc 2. I'm a Christian so listening to these songs means alot to me, to hear Elvis voice praising my Lord & Saviour. but if you aren't a Christian, I think you can still appreciate what an amazing voice he had. he was a brilliant singer & entertainer. ^ the guy singing bass vocals is JD Sumner, his voice could go lower than the Mines of Moria

I've been listening to the new Rise Against album 'Wolves' and I love Rise Against and this is a good album but damn if it doesn't sound extremely "Rise Againsty." Like mix any of these new songs with songs from their previous 2 albums and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Still a good album though.

In line with Beatles chat from the other thread, this album is currently doing time in my daily ride..... Let it Be Me is a highlight on this one, left waiting for Vol 2.

I'm on a huge Amon Amarth kick at the moment. Particularly With Oden On Our Side, Twilight of the Thunder Gods and their latest album Jomsviking.
I wish I got into these guys sooner.

In line with Beatles chat from the other thread, this album is currently doing time in my daily ride..... Let it Be Me is a highlight on this one, left waiting for Vol 2. my shrink is a big George fan, he has all of his solo stuff. whenever I have an appointment, usually we end up talking about something to do with The Beatles. I've been a fan since I was 16 (24 years) my shrink said he was 6 when he started listening to them... so feck, he's been a fan for at least 50 years! he's not going to see Paul McCartney live though, says he doesn't care for concerts. mainly the crowds. I was a John girl at first but now I'm a Paul girl as we are both left handed and I think Paul's solo songs are stronger than John's. I only have the 4cd 'Pure McCartney' but I have all of John's solo stuff and imo 'Plastic Ono Band' & 'Imagine' are the good ones. 'Double Fantasy' would be great if half of it wasn't taken up by Yoko's squealing I'm on a huge Amon Amarth kick at the moment. Particularly With Oden On Our Side, Twilight of the Thunder Gods and their latest album Jomsviking. I wish I got into these guys sooner. I've had that cd for months but haven't given it a listen. my PTSD has made it tough for me to listen to metal music

If we are going down the path of which solo material is the strongest we are going to totally hijack this thread If anything I'd throw George in to the mix before debating too far. I find a lot of Paul's songs to be too "safe" but there are gems throughout. Hard to disagree with your Double Fantasy comment, but it is what it is and if I'm listening the album generally gets played through in full. The Lennon boxset ( www.amazon.com/John-Lennon-Anthology-Box-Set/dp/B00000DG1Q) with outtakes, demos, etc is a great listen and gave me a fresh look at all those songs from Plastic Ono Band to DF. Wonsaponatime is a CD that takes pieces from each of the 4CDs in that box which was a decent preview of the set. I've not seen that McCartney set before - looks like a good mix of his stuff. I'm about to go find that 2015 remix of Say Say Say

I'm not real well-versed in Beatles solo stuff but I fucking love All Things Must Past and I also really dig a lot of stuff on Paul's album New.

I'm about to go find that 2015 remix of Say Say Say the 4 cd Pure McCartney is in an A5 size booklet. there are only about 10 songs that I don't really care for & there are 67 songs. I f*cking love 'Say Say Say', Paul & Michael's voices together... just wonderful to listen to. it's a funky song too. Off The Wall is my fav. MJ album. I don't have any of Georges solo stuff. I did own a 3cd box release of All Things Must Pass but for some reason I just couldn't get into that album maybe I didn't give it enough listens. I gave it to my shrink a few months ago as I hadn't played it in 16 years he already has the album of course. but this 3 cd set was in a nice little box and it was like new. I have John's albums on cd but I don't have any outtakes. I haven't listened to his solo stuff in years. 'Mother' is one of my favourite songs by him. I'm not real well-versed in Beatles solo stuff but I fucking love All Things Must Pass and I also really dig a lot of stuff on Paul's album New. there are 5 songs from NEW on the compilation set I have. my fav. out of them is 'Early Days' & the title track. there are 6 songs from Flaming Pie and I like all of them esp. the title track.
