Going through Sepultura's "Machine Messiah" for the first time. Damn, they still bring it. IMHO, Sepultura is just getting better with age, and I also think that Derrick Green is a much better singer than Max Cavalera ever was.

Ulver - The Assassination of Julius Caesar.
Probably gonna take repeated listens before it sinks in. I liked this song straight away though:

Battle Beast - Bringer of Pain
Best album of the year so far. Glorious classic heavy metal mixed with 80s keyboards and synths. The title song would be an all-time classic if Judas Priest did it.

"Straight for the Heart" is my song of the year so far. Amazing hook in the chorus. Good album, front loaded though.

Listened to Fallen by Evanescence because I'd never listened to any Evanescence and I wanted to make sure that they suck and that I haven't been missing anything. They suck. Now I can move on with my life.

Ulcerate - Shrines of Paralysis
Haven't really listened to anything this heavy in a long time. I mean, I've listened to a bit of Deathspell Omega, which is obviously extreme metal, but no ballsy death metal like this. I'm really digging it.

Some pretty good stuff on this. The first half of the album is great, second half is a bit weak.

I gave the new DragonForce record (Reaching into Infinity) a listen when I heard they covered a Death song. Now I remember why I used to like this band. Literally haven't listened to them since Guitar Hero was still popular.

Wow, haven't seen that album cover in a long time. Brings back memories.
Typo, zombie, sepultura are amazing, I like the Supernaute cover as well.
The second NIB disc was a bit shit besides Electric Funeral and Snow Blind.
