Nah, I hate that stuff sorry lol. I want "melodic" vocals with a manly grunt, like early Araya, early Het, John Bush, or to an extent SYL-era Devin Townsend, or even Burt C Bell.

Saor released a new song from their album due out in November. I shared this band on the last forum and they're great. Scottish inspired black metal but more in teh vein of Panopticon vs. "traditional" black metal. Very atmospheric and escaping. Awesome stuff. saor.bandcamp.com/album/guardians

I'm going to pimp a few bands here that most fans of metallica should enjoy:
Rebellion - my favorite band other than Metallica. Start with the trilogy of Viking àlbums, specifically Sagas of Iceland. Cant say enough great things about these guys, they deserve alot more recognition than they get!
Iced Earth - most of you have probably heard them, but for those that haven't chexk them out ASAP. They were the second Metal band I ever listened to and the slippery slope to the world of underground Metal. Start with Something Wicked.
Cage - ridiculously aggressive power metal, ala Judas Priest on steroids. Start with Darker than black.
Morgana Lefay - see above. Very badass, unique vocals, very heavy and groovy. Start with The Seventh Seal or S.O.S.
Nevermore - another aggressive power/thrash metal band. Warren Dane is the man (check out his solo album as well). Start with Dead Heart in a Dead World.
Beyond The Embrace - Started as a melodic death metal band evolved into more of a thrash band. A band that has disappeared from the face of the earth, from my home state of Massachusetts. Sounds eerily like Metallica on their album Insect Song.
That's it for now!

Overkill is the musical equivalent of diarrhea. Never listened to Metal Church. Sorry couldn't disagree more. Overkill is incredible... Metal Church also is.

I was watching a bunch of live concerts by Rise Against yesterday and I noticed they always play day into night at festivals. Like when they start the show it's day but by the time they're finished it's full on night.

What's with all this Haim business? I don't understand why the hipster and indie crowd has been jacking off over them the past few years.

So does Kendrick Lamar live up to the hype or is he overrated? I've not listened to enough of him to say.

I can't decide if I like Kendrick's voice. I like what I've heard of the music on Butterfly. Don't like Humble. Thus far, my favorites have been "King Kunta" and "I".I shall continue. Probably. Or maybe I'll just listen to the story of when Warren G and Nate Dogg laid all them bustas down.

Damn and GKMC are more loud and aggressive for the most part, definitely check out To Pimp A Butterfly and Untitled Unmastered (8 tracks from the Butterfly sessions not included on the album, mostly very, very good) if you like Kunta and I, they're both in that smoother jazz/funk style.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours Fleetwood Mac - Tango in the Night

Rumours is an alltime classic. How it ever was even finished is surprising let alone the quality of it. Songbird is pretty much a live take done away from the studio they were in. They recorded that one in an empty theatre IIRC. And the Rhiannon vocal track was Stevie's original guide vocal for the band that they felt couldn't be bettered. Love those songs. Heard The Chain on the radio driving into work only yesterday. There's not a bad track on there.

I'm not real into You Make Loving Fun. Everything else on that album is great though.

Wait. Spit wasn't nominated for best metal performance? And Atlas over Moth, Dead, and Halo for rock performance? That's a bit fucked, if you ask me.

I feel like Chris Cornell has the best rock performance category on lock this year. Tragic story and I don't see him (his estate?) losing that one.

Also, her voice is, uh, different. Huh? Not that much? It's definitely lower. Was she considered to be a good singer/have a good voice back in her prime?

Because Rhiannon was on the album before Rumors. Hmmm. You're right No the song I am thinking of was off Rumors, perhaps "Dreams" is the song? Dammit dude, now I'm not sure, hate when that happens. I read it in a mag years ago but there's probably something online about it.
