Hi everyone. I`ve also asked this on another Metallica-forum, but I wanna ask here as well.
Years ago I was very much into collecting old Metallica vinyls. I never really got too much of the rare stuff, mostly because I was fairly young, and didn`t even note factors such as whether my LPs were original pressings, repress or whatever.
Out of the blue today, probably 8-10 years after bying all of them, Ive decided to check it. Most of my LPs are no problem determining which pressing they belong to, but Im having a hard time with my Whiplash single. Ive read that quite a few variations exists, but I cant quite fit mine into any of them.
Im gonna list up some info, and hopefully one of you can answer. - Its Megaforce Records, MRS-04. - The vinyl is most definitely black, not translucent brown or anything like that. - It has a FLAT silver Megaforce-label. - The etchings/markings on Side A is MRS 04 A, Mastering by Frankford/Wayne New York + some scribble. - The etchings/markings on Side B is MRS 04 B, STERLING, A-EX
Ive got a hunch its the 85 reprint, but it would be nice getting the confirmation. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, both here and on the other forum. It`s hard, because some of the markings are consistent with that particular release, while others are match more with the other versions. The issues I have with it being the release you mentioned is that the silver label isn`t raised, it`s flat. Plus it doesn`t say anything about the whole "Mastered by Frankford/Wayne text. But then again, I don`t know too much about this. :)
