While I can see something decent might come out of it, I'm more than content with Jason doing his own thing and Metallica doing theirs. Already feeling my cringe detector buzzing from the announcement there might be a collaboration of some sort coming. |

I didn't think of it as an "omg Jason and Metallica reunion", more like Hetfield's acoustic stuff is awesome, I look forward to it every year, and Jason's acoustic stuff is also apparently cool, it'd be great if they either performed together, or at least had Jason and his band perform at the same show.
In a perfect world Het would do an acoustic album and tour with a bunch of other acoustic artists.

Someone explain to me why there's a rather sizeable portion of Jason Newsted super fans, because this video is filled with people who think that Newsted was the greatest thing to ever happen to Metallica and the primary reason for their success, and if only he came back Metallica would enter a golden age. I don't get it. He was a mediocre bass player with mediocre backing vocals that he liked to scream over Hetfield's infinitely superior lead vocals. And he apparently can't write songs by himself for shit, unless James & Lars are still using their rock god powers to telepathically stifle his creativity and suppress his amazing music. Is it because all of Newsted's fans have succumbed to lost puppy syndrome since James, Lars, and Kirk were assholes to him? And why do they think he'd fit in 2016 Metallica so much better than Rob? Is it because Rob is Mexican? And why do they all think that Newsted's recent collaboration comments mean Rob quitting the band is imminent? Does anyone know where fix this is? He has a throbbing hard cock for Newsted so his insight would be useful and hilarious. I hope Lars releases a statement concerning Newsted's recent comments that are something along the lines of, "Dude, the fuck are you taking about?" |

Since Jason is in a good place mentally with Metallica, and doesn't even remotely regret leaving the biggest band on the planet, I'm looking forward to hearing his opinion on all things Metallica from now until the end of time.
Also, did he ever apologize for calling them a bunch of homos for not telling him they were playing the Raiders parking lot gig?
