Love the new album Prequelle, great stuff.

Meliora. And it's their best. At least of the first three - I'm just checking out Prequelle for the first time. You must have missed the MetOnTour Malaria joke. And it’s their worst album. Nope, I just thought you were dumb. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And it's their best album.

Listened to the album in full while driving to work. There are some gems (Faith, Rats, Miasma). The latter is amazing. Getting Genesis vibe.
The opening there songs made me think this would be totally awesome. But for me there are too many fillers. Songs like Pro Memoria, Dance Macabre, Witch Image, HelvetesFønster and Life Eternal are forgettable. Yes, the whole album is grandious and well produced - just like a rock opera. But those songs remind me of «idolatrine», «Depth of satan…», «har meggido». Fillers.
Its a really tough task to follow Opus, Infest and Meliora. And for me this is their weakest of the bunch. Too soft, too standard, and most of the lyrics contains words like «you», «me», «feel». But the album will be well recieved because of the radio friendly style.

I've just had two listens so far, haven't really had time to absorb it, it's good but not as good as Meliora (which for me is their best album), better than Infest (for me their weakest).
I really like the 80's vibe, hearing bits of Ozzy Osbourne and Scorpions, and 80's pop too, plus a little prog rock. Anyone else catch the tribute/reference to Beat it by Michael Jackson at the end of Miasma?
Only thing I miss is it doesn't really feel like the album is 'in character' if that makes any sense, I miss the evil-priest vibe and even the juvenile humour some of their songs had.

How can you say Infest is their weakest output? That's just crazy. Monstrous Clocks, Year Zero, Zombie Queen, Secular Haze, Per Aspera, Jigolo etc, all fantastic tunes.
The one song that I fucking love to death though off of Malaria is Deus in Abstentia. That song just brings me somewhere else.
Just gave Helvetesfönster a spin. Wow, got me thinking that Ghost could make a sick cover of Knights in White Satin if they ever wanted to. Any who, that instrumental is fantastic.

Have been spinning it today, what to say really. I'm not sure I like that it's THAT radio friendly, there's not much of the hard rock element in there. I like Rats, love Faith and Pro Memoria is also quite nice. I like the intro as well, unfortunately it just kinda ends without a conclusion. I like the layers of everything, really well done.
Overall by far the weakest effort of theirs, other than Pope Star of course

And please, could everyone just stop calling the album Malaria. Just because Hetfield's a retard doesn't mean you have to follow suit.

The new Ghost album has made me get right back into the band, listening to their second album now for the first time in years. It’s so good.

Nights in White Satin is one of those songs that can't be covered. It will never be good, so just play the original.
Also, Malaria

Ashes - Very cool, somehow Tidal didn't have the heavy part at the end, weird. Rats - Good song Faith - Freaking awesome, on of their best for sure. You can't help but nod your head to that riff. See the light - Kinda meh, the verses are boring but somehow I kinda like the chorus. Miasma - Undecided, need to listen to that one a lot of times. Seems quite messy Dance Macabre - Kirk has ruined this song for me, I can't help but seeing he cringey face when I listen to it. Pro Memoria - Very nice verses, I like them a lot. But the chorus is so underwhelming that the song quickly gets boring Witch Image - Haven't clicked at all. Helvetesfönster - Undecided Life Eternal - Starts pretty nice but very quickly feels repetitive. Haven't got the flair like Monstrance cock or Absentia.
I find this album disappointing although there's some good stuff on there.

Kimbo, no Which Image yet? I think that's the best one for me. The whole middle guitar section is just amazing, gives me goose bumps. And the rest is just perfect. Great song. Has that huge chorus like Square Hammer etc. Well, the album passed the house cleaning test for me yesterday. Some really good stuff on there, and some all right stuff. 8/10

Which turned out to be one of my fave's. Maybe it will grow, will put it on in 5 min when I'm in the car :)

I've been back onto Opus the last few days. Soooo good. I don't want to over do it with the new one.
I wonder what song the next video release will be for. I'm hoping Witch Image. It has all the elements to be a hit single IMO.

Anyone seen Papa performing Sandman? Why the hell didn't they chose another track I was hoping for Thingy. Fucking hate Sandman at this point, but eh it was an alright cover I suppose. Metallica is a band that is really tough to cover IMO. I usually hate all of them, maybe because James' voice is so ingrained into my mind that anyone else just sounds wrong to me. I think TF's voice would have sounded much better on an earlier song.

Once again the masses are being taking into account, I hate it. They had the best opportunities to do some obscure cover. I'm sure Lars and Rob would have appreciated that much more too.
