Oh well, the internet, go figure. Maybe the first set list was from that small gig the other night?

So is Papa Emeritus III gone forever in the live shows? Cardinal Copia is here to stay?

Yeah, Faith sounds like a bad Scorpions song, that riff is so Rock you like a hurricane. I like the chorus, I can hear it all big on the album. Maybe it'll grow on me. So far Rats is like an A++++, always in my head or playing around the house, the other stuff so far isn't really hooking me. I like that song about dying, very south park meets Type O with its silliness.

Can't see it, what is it? It's a bunch of people from different bands listening to the studio version of Dance Macabre. Kirk is in it.

Damn. What I have heard so far has been so disappointing.
I can understand where TF is going with this and I respect that. But the way this band is unfolding is not for me. Period. Im just glad I witnessed the band unfolding from the Opus era.
Rats was decent but Dance Macabre is abject.
Opus, Infest and Meliora are classics but the quality fell dramaticaly with Popestar.
Regarding the live performences; Having seen them live during the Infest and Meliora I will just have to dream to see the old lineup back. Because there is a HUGE difference without MP and SS (Yes, saw Ghost during Popestar aswell).

Rats I fucking love, this new song is just bad. His voice sounds annoying and the music is pure 80s cheesy rock. I really hope there are better tracks on the album and rats wasn't a fluke. The other 2 songs sit in the middle.

My brother just mentioned this album is out. There is a great instrumental track called Miasma, check it out.
Nearly completed my first listen. This album is definitely a lot more vocal driven than their first two albums, which were much more about a good guitar riff and creating a creepy atmosphere. This one is more...musical. Not saying its bad just different. It’s a lot more poppy, which I actually think I like in this case. I loved their first two albums, but didn’t get into their Malaria album. I think I like this one, but its different.

So it's out.
It's definitely different like yep-sure said. I'm absolutely loving the instrumentals, especially Helvetesfonster. Mikael Åkerfeldt's acoustic part gives me chills, and makes me want to walk through the shire. It's a total 80's flashback album, so if you are into that stuff you'll probably enjoy the album, but this will surely split the fan base and anger the fans who enjoy the creepier early album stuff. I like it when bands evolve (hence my love for Metallica) so this is welcomed in my book, and I'm glad they are branching out from the usual Ghost formula. Ghost are going to be headlining arenas starting this year, and these songs will surely fit that vibe.
Not the best Ghost album, but a welcomed change. I like that's it's about the length of Opus, really goes by quick and tells an interesting story about the Plague and the people who survived it.
I'm loving the layers added in the songs though, lots of piano, synth, guitar harmonies, wind instruments, acoustic parts, etc. There are even some proggy moments which caught me off guard.
The covers are great as well! It's A Sin has awesome vocal parts, and Avalanche will please the early fans (sounds like Papa II came back from the dead).
Overall my favorite tracks are Helvetesfonster, Miasma (DAT SAX SOLO), Faith, and Pro Memoria. 7.5/10

Yeah, Faith and Miasma are incredible. Probably in my top 5 Ghost songs. Surprisingly Saxophone solo in Miasma is the part of that song that I like the least. Still everything else about that track gave me chills.
I'm a little bit disappointed by the quality of the ballads. Both Pro Memoria and Life Eternal fell short of expectations especially in comparison with Cirice and He is.
All in all it's a good album.

I like the vocals in Life Eternal, but I feel like it's missing something when compared to their other closing tracks. I feel like Helvet would have been a better closer. Pro Memoria is one of my favorites though. Have to say, It's A Sin is my favorite Ghost cover. Absolutely nails the vocals and the guitar lines are beautiful.

I loved their first two albums, but didn’t get into their Malaria album. Meliora. And it's their best. At least of the first three - I'm just checking out Prequelle for the first time.
