I still like the simple, straightforward retro sound of the first album, but the more complex and nuanced songs on the second and third albums are so much more interesting. |

Not sure it would have happened to the same degree if those albums had been released the other way around There weren’t many stand out tracks on Opus aside from Ritual imo, the songs were a bit slow and ponderous, i like a good chorus. |

In a recent interview they said there will be no more backing tracks and extra musicians/stage props on stage. So it seems like they are going for a much bigger stage show during this new album cycle. I’m still waiting for US tour dates, but it should be soon. The new album will be out in a few months so a new single should be coming shortly. I find it very interesting that both Metallica and Ghost teased something today. Maybe they are planning to support them on the arena tour? Met's schedule is pretty relaxed these days so Ghost could easily do headline dates around it. |

Not super excited about the masks (judging by that video) looking pretty close to the Meliora masks in style, but then again the change from the masks they wore during the end of the Opus era to the Infestissumam masks wasn't that big either, and I didn't mind that as far as I can remember. Hopefully time for Rats really soon! : D |
