Phil can think whatever he wants, even if its stupid racist stuff. Publicly sharing those thoughts on the other hand to an audience... well that shit can't fly. The guy is from the South and grew up there (right?) So I'm sure some of that racist bullshit is so burned into his brain since childhood that he doesn't even realize it. I think the only reason he cancelled the dates is because he can't take the heat from the fire he started. The age of social media and its potential backlash has caught up with him.
He'll go away for a while, get a bit fatter and kill some more brain cells, then ease back into the sceen when the flames die down a bit.
I still love all of his music that I do, I grew up with those songs. I really don't care if he becomes the head of the KKK, it just means he is sick in his bald head. If he trys to spread his hate and insight fear, I say charge him with hate crimes or something, or put him in the middle of the hood with a big sign that says he is a recovering racist and needs help, sort of like in Die Hard With A Vengence but without the ''N'' word. It would do him some good and make for good entertainment.

Phil is ruining his own reputation, but I don't think his musical achievements are ruined at the same time, Dime, Vinnie and Rex are still great.  Even Phil's vocals are still great, even if his behaviour is stupid. |
